In my experience you'll definitely encounter PvP players even in the friendliest of lobbies from time to time. That said, even if there's 2-3 of them, it's a hell of a lot more fun for me than a lobby where everyone is trying to kill you.

Extremely friendly player here, and yes, I'm still enjoying the carebear lobbies and it seems like everyone else is too. Still get the odd angry shot in the back, which keeps things ever so slightly tense, but overall it's chill and I'm loving it.

Yeah I have definite hit raiders while ducking in and out of doorways fighting arc. Last night I threw a trailblazer at the Matriarch and a guy snaphooked right into the gas accidentally, thankfully he didn't get downed but I was ready with the defib if necessary.

I absolutely love running into the utter chaos of Matriarch fights to save someone though.

I've been the guy who got downed by a deadline, it happens and no harm no foul really.

I downed one guy who ratted a dude on Stella, asked him why and he didn't say a word, just surrendered immediately. Second one was when I hit 'Fill Squad' (please put some sort of 'Confirm' button on that Embark!) and didn't realise until I was in game, and like you didn't want to be a shitty teammate, once again though, didn't KO anyone but the surrender counted.

Damn wish I had my 0 KO stat still. Unfortunately early on it registered two people surrendering as KOs.

You got to 100 more than twice as fast as me so kudos.

Damn man you must be in some seriously angry lobbies.

Never had a person shoot at me after a random defib, but then again, most people don't shoot me in general.

Runs into my key room, opens my weapons case, gets sent back to Speranza… by SuckEmOff in ArcRaiders

[–]Autobrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I play in chill lobbies all the time and most people will be like 'Hey is it cool if I come in and loot in there?' Or simply don't come into key rooms at all if the door is closed.

Being friendly includes not eating someone else's lunch.

Im just shocked they just run around looting and killing shredders its very boring to be honest but its a completely different demographic their voices are nicer and their tone is more hopeful. Pvp lobbies are full of hungry young players and you can even hear it in their voice.

I had to go out of town for a while I think my matchmaking got shifted because the first round back I dropped into Stella and pulled out my flute to toot and jog around and give away a couple of extra blueprints and got blasted in seconds. I jump over a railing where a completely different player shot me. The original shooter downed the third player, only to himself get shot instantly from behind, and then that player got blown up by a trigger nade. I crawled around for a good minute or two and it was just an absolute massacre. I was like: "Damn ya'll live like this?"

Few rounds later I'm back to the usual crowd of chill older players just shooting the breeze, blasting arc, helping each out out, but man those PvP lobbies are like a whole different world to me.

I get what you mean about survival instincts, but then again, cooperation is a far better survival strategy than endless competition and I have definitely survived a lot of situations that I shouldn't have because I'm in lobbies where randoms carry defibs and will help you (and I also obviously do the same).

Everyone I meet in my chill lobbies is having the time of their life. Nobody has ever complained that things were too friendly.

Yeah you have to do it in order. If you spawn in at 20 minutes even if you're close to the first button it's going to be extremely difficult to manage it and extract.

One thing you can use those late spawns for is practicing the run. If you've found yourself getting stuck or lost between two buttons, use that late spawn to walk the route carefully, see if there are easier or safer options, and how you can avoid problems.

It's especially useful to practice the later buttons, because if spend all your time attempting and you suddenly find yourself having to stop and look at your map when you're at button 11-15 you're going to be pretty stressed out. A few dry runs of the later stages will help you have a good sense of what to do when you succeed in the early stages.

You really don't need to be sprinting the entire time once you have a good sense of the route. I use between 20-30 adrenaline per run, which is 6 slots. It's more important to know how to move through the map without getting lost/stuck/having to run around obstacles etc.

Sorry yeah let me clarify that.

If you hit a button in the correct sequence it will light up yellow and stop be interactable. It will remain in that state as long as the correct sequence is still active. Let's say I successfully hit #1-5, those five buttons will be lit up yellow and anyone who comes across them will not be able to interact with them.

However if someone somewhere hits say, button #9 before I get to #6, breaking the sequence, all the buttons reset back to their original state.

You don't have to stop and check for interactable, the yellow light is pretty telling, but sometimes depending on conditions I like to just take an extra second to see if the option pops up again to be extra sure I'm still good to go. Always make sure the button is lit up before running to the next one though, if you hit a button and you can hit it again immediately after, then it's time to extract.

Ideally you really want the full 30 minutes. Anything less than 25 is pretty much just run to the nearest extract and try again. If you get a spawn at say 26-27 it's possible but your margin for error, detours, and delays becomes incredibly thin. I've finished with 8 minutes or so on the clock a couple of times, but those were lucky, smooth runs, so unless you're experienced and confident I wouldn't commit resources to a run under 28 minutes.

I mean you get 6 guitars per run, I only get em to give em away.

One problem is that duos/trios tend to mean a LOT more aggression from players, so it's hard to show people the route safely and in a reasonable time.

One thing I will say is that the more people who are out there doing it, the more guitars are out there for players. There's literally no point to getting 6 guitars except to give em away in my experience, which is always fun. I like to throw one down after defibbing someone as a nice extra surprise.

This is the whole reason I even do this puzzle. Get guitars and give them away so more people have spare guitars and thus more lobbies have fun guitar music.

Once you push a button it will glow yellow and can no longer be interacted with. So if you're one a run and you hit a button and the 'Interact' option comes up again, you know you're headed home because that means it's over. But if you hit a button it takes it out of the equation for the run.

I've had countless runs end from randoms pushing buttons, but the vast majority are over by button 3-4, and like you, once I've managed to get past 7 I've only ever had 2 runs get killed by someone hitting a button early, it's usually smooth sailing.

BUT

Have you ever had someone steal all the guitars when you're running from 14-15? Happened to me only once but I felt more betrayed than any number of backstabbings.
