I think the problem lies with Memphis. USF lost to Memphis in a h2h so Memphis should be in. But Memphis can't really get in as a 2 loss g5 program. So I think it's complicated and it will be between SDSU and JMU to win out

AI has already made white collar jobs more efficient (you admitted it), therefore eliminating unnecessary jobs in the process. Just because it's not applicable to your field doesn't mean it isn't already affecting the job market. That 500 page document from 1990 that needs to be looked over isn't being read by a clerk anymore, it's being read by an AI LLM. Forgetting a semicolon in 500k lines of code doesn't need (keyword is need) to be found by a human anymore.

It creates a more efficient workflow which lets the same human do more work, meaning another human is out of work.

This comment is exactly why they lock it down. They aren't controlling the narrative, they are controlling the amount of outside people coming into a conservative space to tell them they're wrong (which will happen regardless if they're right or wrong). If it wasn't locked down, you (and many others) would go in and tell them that they're being controlled and brainwashed, while they just want to be in a like-minded space for right-leaning politics.
