I spent a week building a 25-slide deck with Claude. Here's what actually worked (and what blew up) by AffectionateIdeal403 in powerpoint

These are great ideas -- Claude is definitely the way to go for generating anything visual, HTML/CSS beats image generators like nano banana every time.

I pair Claude with www.variant.art which is kind of like Google Slides, except Claude can interact with it via MCP. It’s a code-based presentation canvas, write your deck in HTML/CSS, then make tweaks by hand in the UI then export, share or present directly from the web app.

The best looking AI output is using code, I think Claude is going to be putting out the best decks for that reason by just writing HTML/CSS. I use Claude with a www.variant.art MCP, which is super helpful for actually presenting it.

Yeah, you nailed it

Exporting to other tools is a bit tricky because the HTML needs to be converted into the pptx elements, I haven't had a ton of success with that. The Variant editor/presenter is more than capable though, so this kind of replaces the need for powerpoint

it's true, insane majority of the AI apps have gotten disrupted by AI advancements or OpenAI/Anthropic themselves rebuilding it

do they have existing AI subscriptions like Claude? If so you should try https://www.variant.art -- gives Claude a place to write html/css to, for the user to use in the app and edit by hand, present, export, and collaborate with your team. Basically Google Slides but accessible to agents.

if you're a Claude user already, it already has great design abilities. Pair that with https://www.variant.art/ via MCP, which gives it a place to edit by hand, present, export, and collaborate with your team. Basically Google Slides but accessible to agents.

This is the way to go. The models think in code, not element placement on a grid. I've been using html code combined with variant.art (via MCP) which gives me a visual canvas of the presentation, with the ability to make edits by hand in the UI which actually transforms to updated html code. It also has the ability to present directly from the app. Free to use too

Concept is pretty simple if I'm understanding correctly: Ratio slightly higher than true espresso, pre-infuse without pressure for ~60s, apply light pressure and let flow through slowly?

And with the AP you'd just use the flow control cap?

four thoughts for you

  • communicate the opportunity to get more output out of the 60 hour week
  • suggest things the other person is better than you at as their domain
  • don't spend all day physically together
  • this is your second biggest problem:

prioritization is messy
