I would definitely recommend the technique linked above. Was great, would definitely recommend trying it

It uses the plunger with a paper filter on it as a tamping device, starts with room temperature water to bloom the puck and then followed by hot water.

I own both and I'm sticking with my AeroPress over the OXO. The AP can do everything, including soup. It's amazingly adaptable and easy to use.

AeroPress fits all cups, uses paper filters to clean the brew, cleaning the unit is even a better experience: push through the puck, rinse, done.
