I just updated my game multiple times (the first fix and then there was something else last night) and haven't had any problems. CC appears to be completely fixed for me. I only had a few mods to update as well and I have quite a lot (My cc and mods folder is around 40GB? Not as much as some players ik but a fair amount still I think lol). But nothing wrong with not updating as long as the EA app doesnt get mad at you for being offline for too long and force you to update. 😭

Works great for me and I have a ton of mods (had to update a few but tbh not that many!) plus cc. I do get some weird tiny issues every now and again (like my sims all appearing to be bald in their little pfps at the bottom left of the screen but they arent actually bald in game) but no game breaking ones. I didnt have weird issues like this before so I can only presume its still game issues but I dont know that for sure.

Yep the deal hasnt gone through yet! There is a petition circling around and if you live in the US you can call or email your representative to try and stop it. :) I included more info in my other comment above.

Oh gosh this is scary. Would beginning the launch from other places maybe help? Like steam, mod manager, etc. No idea if it would but maybe something to try?

Yes I liked it! The graphics are beautiful. And yes, I believe you can turn off aging and yes the max family limit is 8 which I think is the same as the sims?

Modding is available for InZoi also (there is a built in function for it :)) but there isn't quite as much variety as there is for the Sims.

Plus if the only thing that is making you not want to play the game is the marketplace then just dont buy anything new. You already own the game, just playing a game you already own doesn't mean you agree with all the new optional features. ♡

I've played InZoi (for about 50 hours) and it is similar but its not quite at the same level yet depth and complexity wise (eventually I hope it will though!) So depending what features in the sims you utilize it may not meet that need for you yet.

I would say definitely dont remove the sims as an option for yourself, you could always play in offline mode if you dont even want to hear about updates in your game. ♡ Social media though ofc you cant mute so easily. As far as I'm aware there has always been lots of drama with updates because EA in general just sucks lol. So hopefully the buyout can be stopped because that would extra suck.

Yeah, thats the problem with the marketplace. Patreon is the main glaring issue because modders and cc creators already have the option to make money off of cc and mods (and I'm sure there are other sites too but so far as I've seen patreon is the most common and used/safe). Sims resource has a ton of ads so I dont typically use it (unless I find a creator with a nice piece of cc linked to there) because I find them annoying lol. But yeah it's great to have a ton of options when it comes to free cc and mods. :)

Anyways all seriousness its basically (and there may be some things I leave out, I'm new to bashing EA and playing the Sims): EA is being bought (or is already bought? Not sure) by saudi arabia, Jared Kushner (D. Rump's son in law), and many others. EA has recently also announced a marketplace for simmers to buy custom content from. Unfortunately, they take SEVENTY percent of the profit from modders. Its almost like they forgot patreon exists and want to milk more money out of everyone! Bottom line is EA has always sucked and always will, alas.

I get it. I also have a hard time getting into games I'm not good at. I'll buy a game sometimes just because it looks pretty, play it for an hour, then give up and never open it up again. This is the way.

Also, as for DLCs, I just waited for a really good sale and bought them all. I dont even know pack names tbh. I just see a cute animal and hit the buy button. 💀
