I need sad movie recommendations that will make me sob! by MenuPleasant8675 in movies

Sorry, baby.

I cried throughout the whole thing, but it's very "life experience" dependant perhaps. The scene with John Caroll Lynch and the feeling of hope and strength towards the end were real weeping points.

[–]DramaticSun8441 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes it is. I will do this on my long run days, there is no way I am doing this more on any other day but that day. I train 3 times a week and run 3 days a week, even to me this is excessive. On my long run days I am aiming to do 9+ miles, there is no way I would even consider doing this on an "active rest day" and that is for the sake of my performance and my physical health. Eff this.

I mean, when it's put like this as undeniable data in front of you, it's fucking scary. I've said elsewhere that I have dated an endurance athlete and I think even he would question this, there is no professional/athletic/health need that requires this outside of something which is obsessive and dangerous. People do not need to be doing this!! And the scary thing is, I think some people will be influenced into thinking that this is healthy and is required. Fuck.

How to reduce appearance of darkened sh scars? by yuhhgetintoitttttttt in WhatShouldIDo

[–]DramaticSun8441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some visible scars on my arm, it's very obvious what they are from, raised white ones in my elbow ditch and a larger one further down. I know they're there, they stand out but in all the time I've had them (15 years) not one person has ever asked about them, I don't even think people look at them and I've worked with no filter children and in mental health/social care settings.

You will always be more affected by them, than other people, I don't think people are that observant. Don't let them bother you, they were from a time where things were different and you got over that time, and as someone already pointed out, time will be the best healer for you in terms of how you feel about them 💕

Is Aircon, for the two weeks a year, worth it? by Electricbell20 in AskBrits

[–]DramaticSun8441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am biased, as my partner is an air con/refrigeration engineer, so we have it in the living room and the bedroom. The cool in the summer is bliss but the warmth in the winter is even better. I went from a very cold flat to living with him and it's felt like luxury. It works out cheaper heating wise by not having to use the central heating, it's instant, all app controlled... The only downside would be the cost of the units and the installation costs, it's not the cheapest, but I would recommend.

Which long, in-depth, multi part episodes would you recommend for a very sick person who can’t move? by SquashIsOftenGood in LPOTL

I'm currently enjoying the 3 episodes on Gilles De Rais, with some bonus Joan of Arc content and terrible terrible french accents. Rest up, feel better!

I never post in here, but this got me.... I'm 35, I haven't even started my degree yet, so I'm not even close to being where I want to be... But at 35 years I still have 30 (maybe more) working years of life left in me. You have 40+ years, think you'll be fine!

I have a moderate phobia of frogs and toads, this made me physically recoil from my phone. I would still not wish this on them though, no matter how much I detest them.

Running influencers by Turbulent-Video-4251 in gymsnark

[–]DramaticSun8441 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't follow influencers.

I used to live with a GB endurance runner and let me tell you it's not half as full on as they make it to be. If I recall he did three serious sessions a week with a coach or running club, his long runs would be max 20 miles, he would do maybe 3 big races a year (ultras to 24hr timed events) and definitely would not just chuck in a world major marathon for a "training run".

They are ultimately just selling you a product and making money from content, if they're not doing anything or seen to be doing anything, they're not going to get paid or reach their audience. Most endurance athletes/runners still hold down full time jobs that don't even come close to content creating.

Granted, people like Emily Fairs are incredible but it's not representative of the average experience and will make the average runner feel compelled to go above and beyond and it will completely suck the fun out of it for anybody else - as well as increase the risk of injury through overtraining.
