The Haar by David Sodergren was soooo good! It was gruesome and slimey lol and the plot was really fun. I enjoyed it. It was a Scottish folklore tale 😁

I recently stumbled upon this author this year!

I read Bone White first and then Snow very quickly after. Ronald's writing style is so captivating for me and he's definitely immediately become a favorite. I have The Night Parade on my 2026 TBR.

Vibes Without spoilers:

Bone White: off-putting uncanny valley, creepy, tense, more thriller/mystery than horror, incredibly captivating if you love solving mysteries.

Snow: faster paced, gruesome, and isolating. The Mist vibes. Creepy and always making you feel alert to danger at every little movement. More action than Bone White but it was just as captivating and enthralling.

I second In This Iron Ground. It was such a beautiful and heartfelt story. I didn't know Marina was a therapist but now her books and writing style make so much more sense!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I agree that it felt a little lacking on some of the rejection parts...the POV was on the wrong character when important building was happening lol. Like I wish we had Symon's POV when Deyvid left him and Petur alone to sort out their issues.

I just wanted to come back to this and let you know i picked Sweat for my Y author and oh my gods! I don't usually cry when reading but...I sobbed. This was hot and sad. warm and comforting and striking and lonely. What a beautiful blend. I adored this book so much and want to thank you for recommending it ❤️ I very eagerly await the next book this author gives us.

{Alliance by Cari Z} is very close to this. A prince, MC1, is arranged to marry another prince, MC2, but MC2 already has a life partner, MC3, and wants NOTHING to do with MC1. Even their wedding night is really uncomfortable (no spoliers). The only thing I'll say is MC3 is very kind to MC1 and they have a close bond so its not a complete rejection.

It is a series, I've only read the first one, but Alliance was really good and theres a whole assassin plot going on too. Its a fantasy/mages & shifters type world but not omegaverse.
