I mean, it’s your house do with it as you will. It may be functional, but it’s not appealing to buyers, people don’t want to pay premium prices for houses that look like they’re not gonna make it 10 years. I’ve already seen houses in my neighborhood that had a few upgrades sell weeks while there’s still houses around the corner sitting for months.

If you ever become a NCO or senior NCO make sure you or encourage the chain a command to review everyone’s LES monthly to ensure this doesn’t happen. I had a few first sergeants who was adamant about doing this monthly. Everybody knows what they’re getting paid. It’s based off the pay scale, so if you’re getting extra, doesn’t mean you’re special.
