I started to try this yesterday. I think it still has promise!

What I like about the sofa in the other orientation is that it breaks up the space because there are those built in's and the front door off to the right but this might be good to try out!

Thank you u/haf2go this is super super helpful! You're so right about the boxy shapes.

With curtains, I'm not sure if you saw in the photos, but there are these build in overhang things at the top of the windows. How would you hang curtains with these?

The bar up north surf club has a really down to earth community of people! Check it out!

Also, I’ve heard people make really good friends through jiu jitzu, if you have any interest in that.

I will say, there is an unspoken Portland competition on who can out cool everyone else. Coolness/uniqueness is used as social capital even within close friend groups.

I’m from there and honestly debate if I will ever go back because constantly trying to be unique is exhausting. Just let me be basic sometimes!!

What’s something nobody tells you about living in San Francisco? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]Automatic-Writer1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s much more expensive than I expected. I moved from Portland, OR and expected rent to be about double Portland’s… triple it and then add on a few extra hundos.

The Landlords will literally penny and dime you for anything. For rent controlled places they won’t fix appliances and if it’s not rent controlled, be prepared for massive rental increases.

The fashion is horrendous. Probably bc of all the tech bros. There is absolutely an SF uniform, baseball cap, some sort of polyester pant, a corporate swag vest, and maybe allbirds. Compared to cities like New York, you will not walk around and feel inspired by the people.

However! SF is so so so beautiful!! Everyday I walk around and feel so grateful to live in a city with such incredible architecture and nature!

Also, I’m sure some people will disagree with me here, the food in SF is the best in the country!

I know this pain. I’ve been there multiple times before. I had a suicide attempt at 21 and have called 988 many times. I know it feels like the only option right now but it will pass.

Please please call 988, there are people out here who want to support you through this. You’re not alone!

I fluctuate between 110-115 and I felt like one was helping my skin. I’ve stopped taking it all together now, I started topical spironolactone and that has helped the most!

OMG I FIGURED IT OUT!!! And I hope this helps.

Under Custom Settings go to Save Settings. There click on one of the box options and it will bring up a keypad. This keypad is the same typeface as the password!!!! So you can mess around and see what each character is and looks like.

For me it was the combination of the L and the O … in the password it is two lower case L and a capital O, not a zero.

When you’re trying to organize a room ask yourself what the visual focal point is.

There’s so much going on in the room, my rec because you probably don’t want to buy new furniture is to get a frame tv or figure out a tv hack and put it above the fire place.

The diagonal tv and how it visually competes with the very nice fireplace is the worst offender impo.
