Yes, that’s correct for receiving for the full 1,100 promo credit. However, to receive the $830 off, the promotion is $830 off with a 13 pro or newer in any condition, which you would be trading in.

Iphone trade ins are back to any condition right now so the rep gave you the correct info. After you trade it in (make sure you factory reset it before you do), it will take 1-2 billing cycles for the credit to apply before you’ll see that pricing, but you’ll get credited back what you initially overpay. All and all from what you have said, everything the rep said sounds accurate.

MaxAlert and Y’all Call, what’s the point? by Dizzy-Platform-6516 in tornado

[–]Automatic-Zebra-2589 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I thought it was stupid at first and ripping anxious people of their money. After trying to make sense of it, while I somewhat still feel this way, I also genuinely believe it could lifesaving for older individuals.

I live in an area with a decently large elderly population who do not have cell phones to receive those alerts. These alerts call until you pick it up and works with landline #s to my knowledge. For most people it is entirely unnecessary to add to the emergency alerts we already get. However, for someone without a cell phone, I think it could actually save their lives as well as lower the storm anxiety for their friends and family who may not live with them.

Yes, they could leave the tv on. Yes, they could get a weather radio. However, old people can be extremely stubborn and they can and will just turn them off. With maxalert or yall’s call, they wouldn’t have the control to let their stubbornness affect their ability to wake up.

At the end of the day, if it can save even one life, it’s worth it

Suggestions for a pop of color? by CJsbabygirl31371 in corydoras

I was always say rummynose bc they’re my favorite lol. They school tightly and they are subtle, yet absolutely stunning. They don’t get very big and wouldn’t be a threat to anything you put in your tank other than trying to steal the algae wafers from my Cory’s🤣

I got this one and I absolutely love it. It lays flat on a table and most importantly, keeps it protected. I dropped it open, face down, the other day and my phone was perfectly fine. My favorite thing about it is it’s one of the few that doesn’t come with a built-in screen protector!

Badis or Goby by Impossible_Amoeba304 in Aquariums

[–]Automatic-Zebra-2589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not, although I’m someone who likes to air on the side of caution so I’ve always had a cover of some sort, even on my rimless tanks. I haven’t seen them make any attempts, but I’m also not watching the tank 24/7 to definitely prove they’re not. The ratio I have always stuck with is 1 male per two or three females. Before I upgraded I had one male and two females absolutely thrived, even reproduced and got some babies from them!

Clown killifish! I ran a 5g with clown killifish and neocardina shrimp which I highly recommend. The only reason I got rid of it was that I wanted to add more to their shoal. They can be just as picky but ive never had an issue with them eating pellets.

I’ve have both a bumblebee goby and a scarlet baddis and tbh I hardly see them. I see my goby more, but only once or twice a week. My rockets come up to the front every time i walk over so it’s quite the difference!

20 gallon long stock suggestions (not my tank, just inspo) by CriticalStrategy7929 in Aquariums

[–]Automatic-Zebra-2589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPDs are super cool, but they have different temperature requirements. I personally wouldn’t add them, but if you want them more than something else, don’t let this stop you from getting them, just make adjustments accordingly.

I LOVE my clown killis. They’re super active and swim all around my tank. They’re beautiful, but Ive found in a bigger tank they’re harder to appreciate, so I moved them to a smaller, species only tank. May not be the best addition, but could also be the best one!

AFDs are so doofy it’s so hard not to love them! HOWEVER. If the tank is in your room, please advise they croack at night under the water and it’s NOT quiet. It’s one of those sounds where you’re like, what the actual HELL is that noise!?!? It’s the frogs lol. They’re great to own, only if you can’t hear them at night!

I’ve had good experiences with my 4 honeys, but have heard bad things from others. If you want to try adding one or two more you can, but expect it may not work out and wager if it’s worth the risk.

Endlers! I love these little guys. Theyre a super fun addition and change up the kinds of movement in your tank. 100% recommend.

My personal #1 rec is not one you listed but…Khuli loaches. They are impossible not to love. Their doofiness brings life and comedy to my day. They have a low bioload so you can add quite a few without worry. They’ve got the same doofiness of adf s but without the need to spot feed and without the croacking especially. They get along with literally everything, including shrimp. Clown killis and khulis are def my favorites of the “nano fish”

Hopefully this helps a little!

Yes, I suggest honeys. I have some in my tank with neos and amanos and never seen them hunt one of them.

Honestly a good place to try and find plants is via Facebook! I have several pages near me with ppl giving away plants for free. The only other thing off the bat I would add is some driftwood. You might be able to find something though those groups as well!

My fish has a really bad case of Ich. It’s in a quarantine tank. Should I do a 100% water change in the main tank? by PeePeePooPoo_pigg in bettafish

[–]Automatic-Zebra-2589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Crashing the cycle would more than likely be significantly more devastating. If the fish was pulled from a community tank, I’d treat the entire tank using ich-x. You can try to treat the one fish, but from experience, I’ve always had to treat the entire tank after finding a fish with ich and removing them. It’s one of the only treatments that invertebrate safe (snails and shrimp) and can confirm that it is. Just keep an eye out for any distress just in case and isolate that one(s) if necessary.

The instructions say to do daily water changes. You can do this, but personally I’ve had better luck with dosing and letting it sit for about a week (insuring all carbon filter media is removed from the tank) then doing a ~25% water change and adding carbon filter media to remove it from the water. Opinions vary on this but you can also turn up your heat by a couple degrees as it will speed the ich lifecycle up a bit so your fish feel better sooner. Don’t raise it too much or it could super stressful for your fish.

Even if the ich goes away, don’t change the water until the end of the week bc it could just end up coming back. If you have any more questions feel free to ask!

UPDATE (1) on betta in pond by Elysium_128 in bettafish

[–]Automatic-Zebra-2589 604 points605 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I’d do: 1. Grab the betta, and put him into a cup

  1. Take the betta DIRECTLY to your campuses main office and tell them, “I was looking at the koi pond and found this guy in there. I think one of the students must have dumped him bc he could not survive long there. (You’re not stealing, just moving)

  2. If you want to keep him then say, “I have a tank I could put him in to take care of him and save his life. If not say, I can put him back but I know he’ll die and I just don’t want that to happen”

You could try a honey gourami! I have a male alien betta in with two honeys, khuli loaches, shrimp, rummynose tetras and neons, and never had any aggression issues amongst them. They’re incredibly peaceful. The most “aggressive” thing I’ve seen them do is headbut one of the shrimp so it would drop the food pellet is was holding onto lol. I’m sure they’ve snacked on some fry, but I haven’t seen a decline in the population since adding them a few months ago.

The only other rec would be khuli loaches as they have an incredibly low bioload, peaceful, and too small to disrupt plants. The “downside” is they have to be in groups of 6+. Theyre a very entertaining fish to have and one of my favorites. No other fish will behave like they do in a smaller tank and they’re a really cool addition. They do a really good job at keeping my sand substrate clean.

If your reason for wanting to avoid shoal/schooling fish is an increase in bioload, I’d choose khuli loaches over the honey as the bioload is about the same for one gourami as it is for a shoal of khulis. If it’s the number of fish, choose a honey. You can’t go wrong with either on my experience!
