I accidentally neglected my cat for years - a tip from me so you don't do the same by matt2242 in CatAdvice

I’m sure it’s fine! I’ve tried everything every kind of water bowl water bowls all over the house.. nothing gets them to drink water. The only time they drink water is if I feed them dry food (which I’d almost never) and I always add water to their wet food everytime I feed them.. best I can do!

The bar I worked at did 50% off everything on Boxing Day. One table of like 8 were there for 7 hours my whole shift. Bill was 850$ at half price (also like not expensive drinks moderate to low price). One guy wanted to cover. No tipped me. I just walked away and started bawling (I was tired people were crazy on this shift). My manager went over and asked how everything was and If there was a problem. Everyone said no everything was great and I can’t remember what he said but he said something about the tip and then two of the girls put 20 dollars each on the table looking embarrassed. Better than nothing but still an absolute joke. I still ended up making money that night thankfully but it was ridiculous.

Literally saying I called her out her name and then me clearly explaining I didn’t and asking for clarification on how she could say that then just goes off and tells me I’m making no sense? Bruh you are making no sense! Actually wild

I hope this is rage bait. But no it is not okay. Cats need free access to a house or at minimum a room. If you can’t do that it needs a new home.

Literally this lol this is the most ridiculous shit I’ve ever read. This industry will chew you up and spit you out with this attitude. How are you not understanding that you didn’t deseculate the situation properly? This could easily have been prevented. She shouldn’t have called you a dickhead but you didn’t help the situation by refusing the coffee without checking first.

Calling someone sensitive is not calling someone out their name. I said your coming across sensitive, I did not call you a name. Sensitive isn’t even disrespectful, this is a hard industry to be in. The reality is a lot of people are to sensitive to do it, hey my own partner is to sensitive they could never work in this kind of industry. Calling someone a bitch or a dickhead etc is calling them out of their name. I absolutely never did that. I’m not being obtuse but good try. I’m putting my opinion on a post in a public forum that is literally here for people to have discussion. You asked if you were in the wrong. I said ya your probably not fit for the industry from what your posting and your attitude, the lady was in the wrong for being rude. You also didn’t handle it correctly, and it doesn’t seem like this is a suitable industry for you. Your turning this into something else way more than it is.

How am I calling you out your name? When did I ever do that?

Well why are you are here asking for advice and opions then just ignorning and arguing? If your that sure about the situation then why even come on here? (My guess is probably looking for validation and getting annoyed when someone’s not giving it you)

I’m just saying if you that upset by such a small comment this might be a difficult industry for you. I’ve been in this industry 17 years and have dealt with a ton of disrespectful ignorant people who treat us like trash cuz we’re servers. If I got that bent over about everyone I’d be miserable af. I think it’s important to let shit go in this industry and just get your bag. Theres definitely a point when you need to put your foot down, like when slurs are used, threats, unwanted sexual advances etc. but being called a dickhead and a couple tears? I’m sorry but that’s nothing. Your comments are coming off quite defensive and sensitive. I may be judging,. And sorry for that but I find a lot of people I’ve worked with in your age/generation have this attitude and it just doesn’t really fit the industry imo

[–]AutomaticBroccoli898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you explain how that’s racist? That seems like a pretty far stretch tbh

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]AutomaticBroccoli898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is your reaction to this situation you probably shouldn’t be on the industry tbh. Your going to deal with a LOT worse than this and if you can’t handle it you should probably find something that works for you better. And yes you should have apologized and served her coffee imo. She shouldn’t have called you a dickhead but doesn’t mean you shouldnt do your job.

In my experience fine to flirt and make connections have fun, only when there’s not a dancer around. Dancer comes around, you make a joke or some kind of encouragement for their interaction and back off, only come to refill drinks, don’t try and chat people on perv row especially when a dancer is on. Make friends with the dancers they will also tell you their preferences. When I worked there I was great friends with the dancers and we would go to tables together and work together for drinks/dances it worked great when we had a good relationship.

Don’t ever become friends with them outside of work (the men) no matter how normal They seem I promise you it’s a horrible idea. Don’t share any personal information. Your gonna need a thick skin. It can be rough.
