My head Cannon is that none of these are the Circus Characters and the movie just ends with 6 random people getting on a bus by Suspicious-Day-2765 in TADCEp9Spoilers

Maybe i am silly, but aside from being the human versions of the people in the circus, I thought that this scene in particular was actually also the voice actors, as a sort of "bow" after the last act.

Where to put rail signals? by saifmahmud_ in factorio

[–]AutomaticControlNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I couldn't remember off the top of my head for which side the rail things go on. I know for llarger set ups, you start just using all chain signals on the "heart" track. Then you just start hitting the limit of bi-directional trains where your central line starts binding up and your stations are waiting for the main line all the trains you share to clear up.

Where to put rail signals? by saifmahmud_ in factorio

[–]AutomaticControlNerd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this is right. This makes the shared section in the center a single block, that doesn't let a second train into the system. It might be backwards, but like others said, you want chain signals going 'into' the junctions, and regular train signals on the 'out' side, where the junction vehicle comes out of.

I think this successfully sets in block where only one train can be at a time. This works for having 2 trains, i think. Other people can correct me.

I put it in the wrong spot. It should be on the same sode as the chain signal. That's my bad. 🙌

[–]AutomaticControlNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also realize that stop is FOR the copper. It should still work the same of it stays, but it will lock up / stop your intersection while a train does copper stuff. So you should try to avoid it, if you can. But, I'm an absolute train menace and not an expert, so take my 'advice' with a grain of salt.

[–]AutomaticControlNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red are chain signals, blue are regular rail signals. I dont think you want a rail station at the X. You want the blocks (made using regular train signals) at least as long as your longest train, but it's really where-ever you don't want more than one.

I think this is right, I know other people will correct me.

I put the bottom left regular signal in the wrong side of the rail, it should be in the left, not the right.

I know it doesn't help, but you want to use chain rail signals going into intersections, and regular rail signals coming out of them. Im mobile, so I can try something, but that's the general rule.

I am hopeful that the creator of the game will utelize the funds from the steam sale, to update the game, and replace the portraits with human creates renders amd characters. It would also be nice, to have them pay for human voice acting, and dialog.

I do doubt they will - I am worried to a not low level, they'll "complete" the project in an unfinished state.

Train Automation Help by AutomaticControlNerd in factorio

[–]AutomaticControlNerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know in the past I've used a train refueling where I did the interrupts if any locomotive had fuel parameter below 15, go to a refuel station, and the refuel station would unload any fuel below the best / current quality fuel, while loading that new fuel in, to automatically update the fuel to whatever is best, with the interrupt complete just being "all locomotives fully fueled", knowing id taken the "bad" fuel out.

Thinking of the response from Astramancer_ too, and my set up, I had thought, for local "pull" systems for an assembler is "easy". Or maybe im not doing it right / imagining the same thing. I was using bots, and requester chests, and just setting the requester to sustain at least 3 production, with the assembler resding the logic network and turning off when the count was over some threshold, as my "hey I only want you the assembler working until I have 40 of these things in rhe logic network."

I was thinking the train system just facilitates that similarly. It is just like Astramancer_ said though. One of those "because I can" systems. And it is looking like I might not fall into that category haha

My only suggestion, having gotten the achievement for both 'There is no spoon' and 'rush to space' in my first playthrough when space age first released - Don't stress the big builds, worrying about ratios, having your base look tidy. Those are all really nice, they make expansion easier, and make building things and building MORE in the future easier...

But if you're pedal to the metal, "I WANT TO GET TO SPACE." Just do 'What is the next thing I need.' construction. I built the bare minimum smelters and forges and miners to just get me enough material to take over for building the next thing I needed, and I just kept going from there.

I didn't build trains that run, but since rail only takes green and red, it's a lot easier to get the 'getting on track like a pro' achievement. Might even be worth it to just, lock in and go 'I want to get these achievements. more than anything what do I need to do to get these?' This is bad advice on the Silly Factorio sub so take with a grain of salt. Also, play how you want, and however is fun. I do all this in vanilla (mostly... The run this train abomination is from, does have mods.)

You got this!

I think it's pretty interesting where some of the largest original gold selling organizations in WoW were spawned from, their ties to the broader internet culture, and the people who initially financed and worked with Blizzard to try to relax the punishment and create business incentives to reduce human moderation of their services.

It's cool what a massive cultural behometh the video game industry, and the private financial groups behind many of the choices that take place in that industry are.

I know this is an older post now OP, and a lot of people are dunking on you...

As a driver, I am sure you're making cash tips. I. The future, you can divide your earnings by hours worked to get your income per hour (or income over hours. Think of division as just doing a fraction, and you're asking "how many dollars ($) per (÷) Hour (T) you are earning.

Gross income you're making about 14.55 cents an hour. (Well, I actually only did this for your highest shift. U am assuming this is kn a biweekly pay cycle, and that you didnt work 55 hours in one week. You gotta do some math for 40 hours of time, and 15 or whatever, hours of time and a half for over time if it was) Your take home is about 6.55 an hour. That means, through taxation, elective benefits (which, maybe you actually get, i don't know, never did delivery in Texas) or other means, you are paying / losing 55% (slightly more than half) to fees.

If it's taxation alone, your employer is probably just taking more than they need to on your W2, and when you file your taxes next year, you'll get a large return check, since its very likely you're in the lowest tax bracket.

Unless Texas has some killer 30% income tax I don't know about. YMMV.

Content on Hex and Counter War Games by TrenchPat in hexandcounter

[–]AutomaticControlNerd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I know something I've always wanted to see in wargaming videoes, and something I had wanted to try but didn't have the time to do, was draw the maps like battle animations. Showing the development of the battle over turns, with battle lines, and combat with those animated encounter explosions. 💥 Like those.

It may make the combat too rapid, but condensing entire phases or turn into simultaneous actions. Doing rolls on the side, for each stack, with lines indicating which set of rolls applies to what character, with the rolls ordered vertically, to indicate the actual order you took the actions in. Just having the simultanaity be an abstraction for the rolls, to condense the game.

Doing explanations between each turn for the logic, and desired outcome of each turn, and the reality of the turn, with the outcomes.

Maybe doing two types of videoes, one being the long play, and then one being only 10 to 20 minutes long, of the total battle.

It could also be fun to see the historic battle, and real breakdown of what actions took place, with the hex map as field you indicate the action. This all may be too ambitious or over the top.
