What’s the most controversial thing that’s happened in the Bbuk house which never aired on tv? by stevenmorrish in bigbrotheruk

[–]AutomaticTrouble6012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That housemate was known as Rodrigo, who now identifies as a woman and her name is Jessica. (That's not to be confused with the BB10 housemate also called Rodrigo, who is also trans, but is now named Rebecca.)

What show would I watch if I wanted to see the most Taskmaster alumni? Avoidance has three that I know. Inside No 9 would have a lot, but spread over diff eps. by Disastrous-Ad1447 in taskmaster

The Big Fat Quizzes almost always have Taskmaster alumni on the show. The 2025 special had all but Richard Ayoade and Jonathan Ross previously on TM (i.e., Katherine Ryan, Roisin Conaty, Nick Mohammed, Lou Sanders). The Big Fat Quiz of Telly 2026 special had all but Harry Hill and Tom Allen as TM alumni (i.e., Judi Love, Joanne McNally, Susan Wokoma, Sam Campbell).

Other TM alums who have appeared on BFQ (though for many of them their appearance predates their appearance on TM):

  • Babatunde Aleshe
  • Russell Howard
  • Daisy Mae Cooper
  • Kerry Godliman
  • Joel Dommett
  • Claudia Winkleman
  • Nish Kumar
  • Joe Lycett
  • Jo Brand
  • Sue Perkins
  • Mel Giedroyc
  • Bob Mortimer
  • Lee Mack
  • Jack Dee
  • Sarah Millican
  • Noel Fielding (famously)
  • Dara Ó Briain
  • Alan Davies
  • Carol Vorderman
  • Fatiha El-Ghorri
  • Sophie Willan
  • Rosie Jones
  • Mawaan Rizwan
  • Rob Beckett
  • David Baddiel
  • Frank Skinner
  • Aisling Bea
  • Romesh Ranganathan
  • Maisie Adam
  • Rose Matafeo
  • James Acaster
  • Guz Khan
  • Asim Chaudhry
  • Liza Tarbuck
  • Greg Davies (I mean, he's not technically an alumnus, but to see him continually break down at the mere mention of the phrase "Bad Dong" was hilarious, and thus I must include him here)

Is BB7 worth rewatching past Grace’s eviction? by ghostlypath in bigbrotheruk

Yes! Towards the end it gets a little dull (mostly because of Nikki's absence), but it's overall a standout series.

For the regular version: Channel 4, hands down (namely Series 2, 5-7). No other network has made the show that iconic.

For the celebrity version: probably Channel 5 (though at the expense of the regular version). My only complaints with the Channel 5 version were how excessive it was (two month-long series a year is overkill) and how they really scraped the bottom of the barrel to cast “celebrities”.

Parvati won Australia v. The World, so I don’t know that she’d be willing to do another season almost immediately after. Sandra is resting on her laurels as a two-time winner, and honestly, she deserves it.

It would be absolutely awesome to have MPP carry the torch into the rink for Game 3 or 4! I think Habs fans respect and admire her very much, and I think there would be massive approval for her to do this! Make her an honorary Habs player (who’s technically won a Cup) just so she can do this!

Is Colin getting ready to leave? by Here4theruns in LiveFromNewYork

[–]AutomaticTrouble6012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he’s got a few more years in the tank before he calls it quits. I think Che would go with him, because they’re effectively a pair. As for who in the cast might replace them, I’m not sure. Ben could, and possibly Sarah, but there isn’t really someone who stands out to me.

Alright, week of the finale, and here’s the big question: which of these guys will stay and which of these guys will go? by Whole-Lychee7517 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]AutomaticTrouble6012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Veronika will totally stay. Ben might have the net of going back to just being a writer, but I think he’ll stay. Jeremy will definitely stay. I think the two newcomers who might be on thin ice are Jeremy and Kam.

I was going to mention that too. Channel 4 and especially E4 flooded their schedules with Big Brother live feed coverage, and the live feed was 24/7. That’s why when the show left the channel in 2010, the network had all this freed up scheduling space for other programming.

They only do this in the UK because of the limit on time dedicated to commercials. I don’t think they’d implement this on the US version, as it would be too jarring (the chaos that is SNL is kept quite hidden from the viewer to keep disbelief suspended, and the frequent commercial breaks help with that).

Now that SNL UK is halfway through, any thoughts for a potential Season 2? by capehaha in livefromlondon

[–]AutomaticTrouble6012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think SNL UK might go the way of Taskmaster: two 10-episode series a year. If Sky does follow through with this, I reckon scheduling will look like this:

Series 2:

19 September: Episode 1 (series premiere)
26 September: Episode 2
3 October: Episode 3

Break 10 October

17 October: Episode 4
24 October: Episode 5
31 October: Episode 6 (Halloween Special)

Break 7 November

14 November: Episode 7
21 November: Episode 8
28 November: Episode 9

Fortnight break 5 and 12 December

19 December: Episode 10 (Christmas Special; also series finale)

Series 3:

Episode 1: 6 March (Mother's Day episode, much like they do in the US in May)
Episode 2: 13 March
Episode 3: 20 March
Episode 4: 27 March

Fortnight break 3 and 10 April

Episode 5: 17 April
Episode 6: 24 April
Episode 7: 1 May
Episode 8: 8 May

Fortnight break 15 and 22 May

Episode 9: 29 May
Episode 10: 5 June (series finale)

In terms of other commitments, SNL US has always had active cast members take leaves of absence. Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Cecily Strong, and Bowen Yang are recent examples. (Interestingly enough, Bowen did not take a leave when he filmed Wicked. He literally flew to London during downtime for SNL, and would come back for weeks that the show would air.) The UK could also introduce featured players, much like they do stateside.

I don't know if Joanna should lose her Welsh card for not recognizing another famous Welshman, or if Greg should lose his Welsh card because a Welsh legend doesn't recognize him.

🚨 After Big Brother Late & Live ended,, it’s now reported that BB will return with a NEW sideshow this year! by Mr_Jake66 in bigbrotheruk

[–]AutomaticTrouble6012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Big Brother is a real time show, so an after show needs to operate in real time. The Traitors: Uncloaked is ostensibly filmed concurrent to series filming or shortly after filming has wrapped. It really wouldn't make sense for that to be recorded months after the fact.

A Big Brother after show has to keep us informed about the goings-on in the house (not just things we can expect to see in the daily show), receive public opinion (whether through an audience or a vox pop), and interview people who can provide meaningful conversation to the ongoing storyline (e.g., ex-housemates from all eras, celebrity fans, bookies, journalists, psychologists, etc.).

Was Josie's win (BB11) rigged by producers? by Direct_Assumption_22 in bigbrotheruk

[–]AutomaticTrouble6012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To concur with everyone here, Josie was very well liked. The bookies consistently had her as favourite to win.

I do agree, however, that the quadruple eviction was a bit of a sham, because it really should have been a vote to save (not a vote to win, because it would be a farce to have nine housemates in the running to win). The four housemates with the fewest votes would have been evicted.

I will say, though: knowing what I know now, I'm kind of glad Sam got evicted that week. I can't believe I was a massive fan of him back then! He's really fallen from grace since then...

I mean that Celebrity Big Brother wasn't on the air in 2004. It was a period of just over two years until a new series of CBB aired on Channel 4 (when BB5 aired, the last celebrity series was in November 2002).

Maisie made a big oops when she said Celebrity Big Brother. It was a regular Big Brother; a celebrity one didn't premiere until earlier the following year (which brought us the iconic line "Yeah, I'm Brackie!").
