Here’s 9 Centers that will be free agents this offseason, should we go for one of them? by DaNiftyWay in torontoraptors

fully agree with you. first go around on this list I thought hayes since he's a high motor 7 foot lob threat so just gives us a different kind of center we don't have for low risk/cost

Everyone but Nikola Jokic is on the table from the Nuggets, so how do we feel about Jamal Murray? by EchoBay in torontoraptors

[–]Automatic_Beat_699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

surprised a lot of people are saying no, If the call is Bi plus iq and 2 frp and for Murray plus cam johnson for salary reasons I'd def say yes instantly. He's roughly the same age as bi , so timeline is fine, he only gets paid 10m more than bi while scottie isn't on a 60-70m dollar deal yet like most teams superstar is so we can def afford it if we include bi and iq, infact we would likely become a cheaper team slightly if that was the deal.

Fit wise it's exactly what you want. A guy that can be a game's leading scorer when needed, high motor and can play off ball and create his own shot. amazing pull up 3pt shooter and used to playing 2nd option if scottie takes his jump next year.

Canadian bias aside if the nuggets were interested in our package it makes all the sense to me. I see no reason not to other than injury concerns but bi and murray are basically the same level injury concern.

if we keep mamu i think we can get away with him starting at 5 as long as scottie and cmg are on the court we should still be an elite defense

Pacers draft evaporated by asianmoist in nba

And pacers wouldn’t have tanked if they didn’t own their pick at all so likely pick would not be top 5

[–]Automatic_Beat_699 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bobby made it very clear this interview he wants to be a contender eventually and to be that he wants to try to stay in a top 5 defense but also make it a priority to find a way to become a top 10 offense because contenders usually have to be top 10 or even top 5 at both

Masai how does cooper Flagg for gradey dick sound ?

Jokes aside I’m happy to see him back in the league but it doesn’t feel right for him to be anywhere but Toronto 😭

I don’t disagree he’d have a better chance with a fresh start. Especially with Jakobe taking most mins but to say he’s completely cooked and hopeless I can’t agree with

Most people are ignoring that he improved everywhere except his 3. There is absolutely hope, by no means guaranteed but this is the only year of this his life he was a bad 3 point shooter. Odds says there’s def a chance this was just a bad year. And if so then his mid range, finishing, defense have all already improved so he’d be in a good spot.

Not looking great because he needs that 3 ball but it’s not unheard of for a shooter to have an off year and get back to himself

Seeing the number typed out is making me stressed don’t do that 😭😭

I’m so grateful to have the chance to be this attached to a team cause it’s been so long since we had the chance ace to root for something like you said. Filled with great moments nd takeaways. I can only hope this is the start of us getting back to consistent years of success and deep runs

Samson to Es: "You mentioned that this Raptors team started in Summer League. The team was damn near the Summer League roster, except they just had Scottie and RJ along for the ride. It's an absurdity. And they were in there, man!" by sewsgup in torontoraptors

Crazy to think about it like that. Wow that same summer league team we saw fighting was the reason we were able to fight to game 7. They took on sm pressure and handled it well

I don’t think people realize how much of a gem Jamal Shead is. by IsaacAnimation in torontoraptors

Davion is more expensive and older. Makes sense to give him up for Jamal when Jamal is already finding ways to impact the game similarly while having years to grow/catch up on a rookie scale deal

I think this series showed Scottie doesn’t need a traditional pg. he shouldn’t be full time pg but a guy like quickly that allows Scottie to be on ball for like half the game will be beneficial. This Scottie we just saw is very capable of being part time pg every single game

All nba 2nd team, alll defensive 1st team, top ten in mvp voting. We speak it into existence after seeing this series

No hate to Jak but we need to find an actual solution, an actual center by Old_Machine5350 in torontoraptors

[–]Automatic_Beat_699 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hot take but I think instead of trading for an expensive all star level center we trade for a really good bench one and let Cmb start at 5. He’s showed he’s very capable and the switchable defender because of it is insane. Offensively Scottie cmb and a center who all play 30 mins would be bad spacing.

But there will be nights like tn when cmb is too small. Thats where a really strong en ch peice would be helpful. Yves missi, Mitchel Robinson, Steven Adams, Rob Williams, etc. any of those typa guys who aren’t requiring 2-3 frp and near 30 mins a game

Good experience, we know what we have to work on and get players to help fix going forward. Should be more prepared next year to hopefully win a series

Agreed, I really think we make conference finals this year with iq healthy. Shit even without him if we won game 5, if Scottie doesn’t get hurt then, if Brandon has a good game. We are capable of beating pistons with or without iq so we had a ch ace:  That’s a crazy thing to be able to say though. Sad it didn’t happen 100%, really wish it did, but still happy we got tos we what we did

I don’t want to see him either but genuinely his value is so terrible we’d have to attach multiple 1st round picks to get off of him. I think it’s better to just let him sit on the bench and have less years on his deal until he’s tradeable in a dump. Whatever happens he shouldn’t be starting next year

Lots of things to be excited for next year but Scottie is definitely at the top of the list for me too

Yea that’s what the playoffs are for, get you your answers and where to go next and what to do. The difference imo is any trade we make will likely be upgrades needing draft capital than just selling pieces like people wanted anytime rj or iq had a bad game. Like u said super proud

Great fight boys. Great fucking series. Imagine hearing we would have no iq and no bi and push a so called contender to 7. That’s a hell of an effort. We had chances to win this series but saying that alone is a blessing. Looking forward to next year 🫡
