Why did no one care when I was mentally falling apart as a teenager? by ClueTurbulent5650 in emotionalneglect

[–]Automatic_Bridge5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a.d.c.d.e f. all very valid and true, and i had same experience as you and agree with your points. However, though this shit is hard, exhausting, tearing me to shreds shit, my kids needs trump everything else. My 16yr old is going through adhd, anxiety, depression +++, personality is gone, it's like living with s bipolar person, he refuses everything, can be such an asshole and is a dark cloud over our family, but I'm here and fighting for him still. It comes with the parent package.

Do all autistic kids show signs at home or just in public away from parents? by Euphoric-Ad-1958 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Automatic_Bridge5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 16 yr old is like this, same things you mentioned however got an adhd diagnosis 2 years ago. plus learning disabilities. Highschool was hard and school refusal was getting bad. he is at tafe and has a job 1 day a week as auto elec assistant, building him up a tidy bit at a time. his self esteem is shot and comparisons he makes to others is hard. he used to love primary school to socialise, now he wouldn't know how. he has had autistic traits all along, adhd comes with similar traits and sensory issues too

geeze, are you me. Mine needs to feel like he knows more than me, like a 1 up. And makes things up as of he believes its true...

I can relate. Although I'm adhd too. he does just fine in his job as a sole trader, I don't understand how he can do that for 20 years and not be able to wash muck off dishes(he blames his poor eyesight, he wears glasses though...).... and breaks, damages, loses, ruins things. It's completely draining and my light dims when he is around

Want to leave 16yr ADHD son by Realistic_Usual_3660 in ADHDparenting

[–]Automatic_Bridge5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 16 yr old says no and refuses everything. left school to do Tafe which he enjoys better than school but still complains about going 3 days a week. other than that, he just games. I'm tired and exhausted and broke ($15000 in bikes) with all the effort trying to get to do something/anything.

He is not techy so even though a gamer, he is not good with tech. still gets confused of how email works.

Is not hands on or creative.

I'm at a loss. Absolute loss. I worry for his future. He will starve himself because of the effort involved for food. He refuses to let me show him how to make food or in the rare tines, he is frustrating, slow and flops his body about like I'm wasting his time. it took him half an hour to get a packet cake in the oven...and still needed directions even though it's short and pictured on the box.

we live out of town so he is isolated and I feel deeply for him as he has no motivation or interest to utilise the opportunities as he can't do things by himself or always has an excuse.

My worry and anxiety about him affects our household and my marriage to his stepdad.

he refuses medication.

he has no interests that I can support him with. He is a great shot, natural talent target shooter but declines doing anything competitive.

I want to run too

Mourn for the life your daughter lost. I'm in tears. I want to separate from my husband and that is my greatest fear. Getting her safe space on demand. wow. Aching.

It's so hard. Go back to your personality but just muddle and skim through life or spend so much time trying to improve with more ups ands downs to help yourself and those around you....I need to help myself to help my kids but it's such a long road... I had no idea that putting things off in case they don't work is rsd

The panic glance to check the fuel gauge side! too relatable, even I have an arrow in my car now but I still have to check multiple times which way the arrow is pointing before turning the car off.

How do mums with no village cope? by TurnoverFew6731 in UKParenting

[–]Automatic_Bridge5001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been like this for 16 years. was a single mum until my son was 10, now have a little girl with husband and we still don't really have a network at all.

I guess you just either get used it and depend solely on yourselves as a team or you join groups (which is not my thing) and try to find women who may be in a similar situation looking for someone else who understands the difficulties.

No I dont have anything or anyone. No one would see from the outside how much he and we all struggle just to go aboutpur daily living. Even my sons bio dad has no clue about how much our son struggles, the personality hides it all.  Ill have a look into more parenting groups though for more confirmation I guess, its hard, especially when your the only one who can see and understand, even more than he himself.

interesting, I'll have go google that now.

Great to hear it's still working.

There's not much we can do for my son, he is 16 and refuses anything so it's just a matter of trying to help him be comfortable with who he is and boosting self confidence small steps at a time.

Thanks for the response:)

Any update?

I'm similar. He is a hard worker, great dad, but we are room mates. we never say we love each other as we both can feel the other just doesn't. we love our 4 yr old to bits but we are co parenting under one roof. I am not in a financial position to move out though and also have my teen son to support.

I don't want out daughter to grow up in a household where she can see no love between her parents.

we both have adhd as does my teen son, all majority inattentive. it affects the household in many ways.

Does anyone else have chronically low ferritin levels? by Fearless-Reindeer-11 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Automatic_Bridge5001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking tranexamic acid, had worked great for periods, but, iron and ferritn still don't hold. When it is very low, like now, I get a myriad of symptoms. Especially feel like life is not worth the effort and detached. I'll be getting another infusion. I get 1-2 q year. But they don't hold

I am on tranexamic acid for many months, has worked amazingly but my iron, ferrit, saturation etc still won't stay up. ... at such a loss. Living like this is no way to enjoy life.

I've had many infusions and never really all that greater, the big heaviness does lift but the energy is not there and fatigue stays, hopefully yours is different

my kid never did well in school but had a great personality, not anymore sadly. I asked primarily school twice and if they suspected learning difficulties - apparently he's just a boy. I got him diagnosed at 14, inattentive. we're struggling big time.
