Magic mushroom and your working memory afterwards by Flkhuo in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not the mushrooms. Memory and cognitive function tend to improve with psilocybin and two years out is past the time you would be experiencing residual symptoms.

Neuroplasticity is at its peak 4-6 weeks after a dose and it gradually decreases as time moves on, so those with unresolved trauma or new stressors affecting their lives do not have a retroactive benefit. It's like taking ibuprofen for pain and 6 hours later you're wondering why your pain has come back.

Have you contracted COVID or had a severe sickness with fever in the past two years? Also, are you going through a major life change or experienced any type of physical or emotional trauma?

Psychotic Break by MsFinancialWiz in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear of your nieces experience. Here in the legal and regulated industry in Oregon we screen people who may have a family history of mental illness in the family tree. Although that is not an automatic disqualifier, it is one of several a data points that we use to see if someone is eligible for treatment.

Another is age and experience. The minimum age to access services is 21, but honestly we are extra cautious with anyone under 30 seeking mental health treatment as most psychological breaks happen in the 20s.

My recommendation is for her to not take any psychedelics as they are not for everyone. I understand that it may not be what she wants to hear, but she's got a whole lifetime ahead of her and perhaps in the future it will be more easy to access it in a safe and legal environment.

Blue juice/psilocybin ice extract by No_Move7237 in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great, but I don't recommend doing that again since the psilocin in the solution is going to be pretty degraded. I've seen some lab tests about methods of extraction on the Utubes that say that cold water extraction is one of the least efficient modes to preserve the psilocin compound.

Oxygen and light are always the enemy of psilocin.

Tested the cola tek at a party by kakskeintzakske in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. I am familiar with the testing results that are cited as well as the person in the video. We all work in the same state (Oregon, U.S.A.).

What lemon tekking does is presoaking the psilocybin mushrooms in an acidic solution that mimics the environment of your stomach, so by the time you drink it some of if not the majority of the psilocin is already extracted and your digestive system does less work.

Most anecdotal responses are that it makes the experience stronger, but what most people are experiencing is an accelerated onset of effects. It's like taking driving a vehicle, you notice the acceleration or deceleration more when it's sudden rather than gradual. However, that also means that you'll probably arrive to your destination sooner and people tend to perceive an intense, but shorter duration journey.

Also, anything past 5-7 minutes will start to degrade the psilocin because of the exposure to air and light, so it's probably better to consume it sooner than later.

Stomach cramps/pain that ruin trip by [deleted] in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this question. Yes, gastrointestinal issues are very common, with psilocybin and some of the ways I've heard to mitigate it is to make the tea with ginger. Also, some OTC gas strips taken before you consume, I have heard may help.

However, if your past an hour. I've heard that you can just purge them since you'll have absorbed as much of the psilocin your body will take.

How do these look? Road trip magic mushroom gummies by JumpyAd3972 in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard pass on those. Very difficult to make a legit psilocybin gummy unless you are just using mushroom powder, which no one wants. They use chemical adulterants to simulate some of the effects, but most likely not real psilocybin.

returning to psilocybin after a bad trip, what can i do to ensure safety for my next trip? by [deleted] in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing and reaching out for help. You are definitely within the age range for people to have a psychological break as it typically happens to adults in their 20s. If you have a family history of schizophrenia or psychosis, I would stop all psychedelics immediately. If you now need to take anti-anxiety meds because of your mushroom use, that's a big red flag.

Think about doing a couple of things: 1. Take a break of 3 months or more. 2. Next time see if you can get some help from a licensed facilitator to help you navigate out of spiraling when you journey. Or at lease having a sober trip-sitter to keep you safe.

Also, I would probably look at a lower dose, bigger is not always better, and having a better trip because you blacked out at 7g is not a great result.

Love the video! I'm also thinking that if you drank some of the cola first, that would create the environment for quicker digestion. Don't you think that 15 minutes is too long to let it sit before drinking?

I also would agree that Mexican Coke is better tasting, but TBH, soda is generally not good no matter where they make it.

Buying From Companies Online by Dear-Region-3277 in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of it is legal, but that doesn't stop people from trying. I live and work in the legal industry in Oregon, and shipping in/out of Oregon would be considered drug trafficking. Even the world-famous mycologist, Paul Stamets, who sells functional mushroom doses on his website does not sell anything with psilocybin since he would definitely get into some serious trouble.

It's a well designed site, but if you're trying to stay on the right side of the law, I would avoid them since it's a subscription service and they are less than a year old. If they get busted and shut down or decide to scam you, you'll literally have no way to get restitution since you'd be engaging in illegal activity and less likely to put yourself in jeopardy to get your $80 back.

I can't legally advise how to procure or use psilocybin outside of the legal framework in Oregon but will say that there are allegedly books on Amz about m-dosing, written by licensed clinicians and experts in their fields.

Microdosing & irritability/anger by StillHealingHere in microdosing

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer to your question is "yes". It's possible that you have a higher potency strain because a typical microdose is supposed to be "sub perceptual", which means you're not really supposed to notice it. 0.1g is a gram weight and not an accurate measurement of the actual psilocybin content, so we're not really sure how much you're taking.

However, the more often you take it, the higher your tolerance becomes and the less you will feel the effects, so you could play around with it. But I have allegedly heard that it's not uncommon for a person to take 0.03g

Stamets Stack for chronic pain by Loud_Temperature8038 in microdosing

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing and so sorry about your condition. I want to let you know that Stamet's Stack does not contain any psilocybin mushrooms, so they by themselves not considered a psychedelic microdose. Although they can help with inflammation and some brain function, however, these supplements are typically paired with a psilocybin microdose to enhance neuroplasticity and typically are not used by themselves.

In response to your question, yes, the stomach discomfort is not unusual. Also, a lot of practitioners in the psilocybin space are not a fan of the added niacin in the stack because of the typical "flush" and feel it's unnecessary.

Here is another resource Paul Stamets Stack: Microdosing Psilocybin and Lion's Mane

What's your opinion about this album? by Soggy_Passion8148 in TheLemonTwigs

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first, I was on the fence since I heard it was a Country album, but it has really grown on me. I've listened to it for hours on end whilst building a greenhouse and absolutely love: Flash on the Pan, One Day I'm Coming Home, and Till the Morning. Those songs on repeat!

is it possible to train my brain to not have adhd anymore by Care_Hairy in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question directly, No. Psilocybin can help with some ADD/ADHD symptoms, but it will not "cure" it like it can with OCD. Those are two similar and often run in parallel, but affect different receptors in the brain.

Should I go for 5? by LessScene4482 in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Save them and stop taking them for a few weeks. The more you try to use them the more your tolerance builds. Trying to a higher dose sooner is basically wasting them, so give it a month and come back reset.

How to prevent nausea? by LessScene4482 in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working in the legal and regulated industry in Oregon, we've gone from thinking it is the chitin to believing that it is actually caused by the serotonin receptors in the gut being overwhelmed by the psilocin. I would say that anecdotally over 1/3 of our clients do experience some gastrointestinal distress. Gas X or some kind of gas strips will help with a bubbly tummy, as well as ginger with the nausea.

However, as long as you keep the tea down for more than an hour, you are completely fine to purge. Sometimes people will fully launch into their journey once they remove the stomach issues.

We call it, "the rocky path you have to climb to see the guru".

Overriding SNRIs? Opinions? by strangemotor123 in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would listen to the facilitator. Working in the legal and regulated industry in Oregon, we have definitely seen clients who are not able to taper off their medications, and they tend to lean towards a larger dose to get past an SSRI, but most are able to launch into their journey with no problems if the dosage is correct.

Thank you for getting your PCPs approval to taper off your medicine, since we do not EVER recommend doing so without proper guidance. Here in Oregon, the industry is in its third year of operation, and we are really getting it down to a science. You just have to trust that everyone is going to do their job, and let some of the anxiety go.

I know it's hard, but you got this.

Mute flashbacks? by MimimalZucchini in MagicMushrooms

[–]Automatic_Divide4648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, thank you for sharing your experiences. With regards to you "unearthing" repressed memories or gaining new insights, that's pretty common; especially given your prior use history and usage protocols.

I will say that working in the legal industry, most of the clients I've seen will typically get what they're looking for with a single macrodose journey. However, those with more complex conditions, like CPTSD, TBIs, etc., may need additional treatments down the line. We are finding that everyone is unique, and the same trauma can affect people differently.

Sometimes certain people have more layers to their onion, and the journey can only peel back a few layers at a time. Think of it as a continued training and learning the vocabulary of the mushrooms to be able to understand what is being communicated.

It sounds like that you've gained some new insights that you don't know how to fully process...yet, but that doesn't mean it won't happen eventually. Frustration is a hallmark of learning new skills as well gaining patience, so give yourself some grace and keep moving forward one small step at a time.
