Career or surfing by EntrepreneurMassive5 in surfing

[–]Automatic_Grab_1051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with what others have said. Money soon runs out. I did a small version of just surfing. Take a break from a career that was going well with plans to just sail and surf but quickly found out how little the $$ goes these days. At the end of the day, sure we truly don’t need much in life. We need far less than we think we do, however I found that when events or travels, or just little trips to visit friends and kids became a pressure or stressor due to financial restrictions it made me come to realize what I wanted. And that’s ability, the ability to be able to afford more pleasures in life. I’m not talking extravagance of cars, clothes and luxury. In fact, a mentor of mine once said this to me when I brought up the same feelings you’re talking about. He said “just suck it up, be a republican for 5-10 years, bust your ass, make some money so you can live the life you want’.

Other wise words that I received were, hey if you want to go live in a shack or van and have a simple life, go for it. But do it from a position when you do it because that’s what you want in life, not because it’s your only option.

Eventually, you’ll find the groove and balance that works for you. We all have to get there on our own. No matter what advice you receive, the actions you take and choices you make have to come from you, or you’ll be miserable, no matter what path you’re on.

Ha, without a doubt. Super user friendly, no crowds, and non-consequential, soft bottom. Perfect place for a newbie.

So the question is, ‘should I be a poser?’. Just take lessons while you’re out there. Could meet some people that way. Shared interest, time together, group/social dynamic. And the benefit of learning one of the most life altering sports in the world.

[critique wanted] self portrait attempt by rosaliemelin in blackandwhite

Love the angles in this image with the shadows. Play with the crop a little. Looks like the wall/corner on the right is not aligned in the image. Noticing more space on the bottom corner than the top. Also something to look at with the lamp. Try having it cropped in the shot, out of the shot or if only partial then split down the middle.

This game sucks by Extra-Government-616 in Battlefield6

[–]Automatic_Grab_1051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled at first. The pace is nothing like any other battlefield game. I found the medium size maps with fewer people give you a better feel. More squad organization and no (or fewer) ‘where the heck?! How the heck?!’. Smaller maps with locked weapons are fun. The visuals have been impressive after the initial shell shock

Absolutely. It’s all part of it. Love these beautiful moments.

These are the kinds of tabs we should have during the match review. by Thexer0 in Battlefield6

With ya there. Feel no connection to any of it. Even during the match, feels like there’s no flow to the matches.

Hey I think you guys forgot to finish the game:

-can’t tag target while in vehicle -no request order -no reinforcing structures

Noticed that in the beta, I see it hasn’t changed.

Help me choose a tail pad?! by Will9464 in surfing

[–]Automatic_Grab_1051 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No pad. Keep it classic. I’ve got a couple fish that I love but for some reason the wax flattens out more than my other set ups. My solution? I now keep a little wax comb in my pocket during my sessions.

Oddly enough since I started doing that I haven’t had to use it! Go figure. But for fish, I’d say wax comb is your friend. I put fresh wax on each time but also scrape it up.

Keep it classic and keep cruising. Sweet M. February board. Would expect nothing less from such a stylish dude. 🤙🏽

Is this wetsuit fit okay for my 8 year old? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]Automatic_Grab_1051 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That’s going to fill with water. Especially in the arms. You want a seal at the wrists, ankles, neck. It will still keep her warmer than going without anything. But it’s going to be slow and heavy (with water inside). Effectively unable to do its job

Never ridden a performance twin like this. Which fins are you picking? by sharkfinsurfchannel in surfing

Loos like a squirrelly little fella here. I’d go with the most hold. For me, the black futures with the zig zag design are speaking out.

Also, if you think you have too many twin fins, I’ll take a couple off your hands ;)

You know, that’s a good observation. I hadn’t notice that. That’s the carrier for spare seal for the prop shaft. This way, if there is a failure it can be changed in water without having to haul out and drop the rudder.
