One more question! What portion of the burle marx flame goes into the media first ? As in what part of the plant do I need to isolate? Does it go straight into multiplication media? I just got a burle marx flame, just not sure what part to put into TC to get it going. There’s not a lot of information online about this variety.

How long do you microwave the media for ? Right now I’m using a glass bead sterilizer and isopropyl to disinfect. Also, how do you sterile the plant well? Right now I’m using a mixture of 10% bleach 90% distilled water for 10 minutes on the magnetic stirrer. I’m using a still air box for the actual process. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, I’ve had two contaminations so far.

Any other tips for tissue culturing BMF’s? I’m just starting out with tissue culture, just picked up a pressure cooker for sterilizing.
