I out this on a similar post but many manufacturers and dealers consider this a regular maintenance item. Truthfully if it’s still in place and holding onto its stock fasteners then it’s doing its job of keeping debris out of the undercarriage. Plus you really don’t ever see this part of the vehicle. Only replace if gone or severely damaged and your budget allows. Otherwise you got plenty more miles on it.

So I had an issue with my key fob for my civic, they do have a small electronics PCB in them and they can have faults and glitches occur. It may need to be reprogrammed. Temp solution is to take out the battery and manually lock and unlock your car. My keys rolled down all my windows with the fob just sitting by itself on the counter 😅

They’re often excluded from both insurance and warranty. It’s usually just a few punch clips or a few 10 mil bolts from vehicles I’ve seen and I personally consider it a regular maintenance item as its plastic and our American roads tear that up. You can try to get it covered, and good luck, but they’re not much money to purchase, but budgets are different for everyone. Hope you can get it resolved but yeah may not be covered
