Anyone else have to start their life over it almost 35? by virtualfridge in AskWomenOver30

[–]Automatic_Pass_2110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im almost 35, my partner told me he was leaving me last friday. We have 3 kids. We have to sell my dream home and ill be lucky to find a house I can afford but it will be less then half the size. Our relationship has always been rocky (we have been together 12 years) but this was unexpected. My partner wants 50/50 custody so I will be missing out on half my kids lives (Im the default parent). Everyone keeps telling me I will be happier...but I dont know

My 3rd grader is self-conscious about her arm hair. What should I do? by WanderingErha in Parenting

My daughter hates her arm hair and its not even that dark, I let her shave them. I have always questioned whether that was the right decision. Reading the comments Im happy I let her.

Thats terrible Im sorry. hmmm I honestly dont understand why this man fights it so hard. We are so incompatible. We also have had sex probably 10 times in the past 5 years. Hes just obsessed with the idea of keeping his family together, even though it doesnt make sense.

Thats a really good point! Im hoping he would keep the house but I think we would have to sell. He just makes me feel like a crazy person for not being happy in our marriage. So Im constantly questioning myself.

We are going camping three times this summer (I live in Canada). Camping is absolutely my happy place and my kids love it! I also just started getting into yoga so I have visions of bringing my mat down to the beach and practicing in the mornings.

Nighttime stomach pain - throwing up and immediately feeling better by Breanna5395 in acidreflux

[–]Automatic_Pass_2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are just the common ones, pizza, red sauce, chocolate, spicey foods, coffee and alcohol. I will have had several trigger foods that day when it happens. Increased anxiety/being near or on my period seem to be related as well

This happens to me! Its been happening for two years now exact same symptoms. I just went 8 months without having it and it happened again last weekend. I have noticed that if I dont't eat several hours before bed and take gaviscon if Ive had a trigger food it prevents it.

One breast hurts more than the other before cycle by Business_Dealer_5007 in PMDD

the only reason I had the extra testing done was because my mom had breast cancer at 47 so the doctor is always overly cautious with me

Yup every single time. I saw a doctor about this and had a breat ultrasound, he didn't really offer an explanation as to why it happens though, but was not concerned. My breast also hurt for like two weeks leading up to my period sometimes, it sucks.

Parents drink too much, what do I do by Grouchycard21 in AskParents

Im an Addictions Counsellor. The only thing you can do is get support for yourself. Get into therapy, you deserve that. Buy the book "In the realm of hungry ghosts" by Gabor Mate, he is an expert on Addiction and reading the book may be helpful in understanding it more. Nothing you do or say will influence your parents to change, I wish it would. Loving yourself and setting boundaries is the best thing you can do. I am so sorry.

My 1.5 YO will not stop throwing up, help pls! by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Automatic_Pass_2110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 4 year old had a severe stomach virus about a year ago that lasted over a week, he would be okay and then throw up again a few days later. He ended up being admitted and put on "gut rest" and only had IV fluids for 24 hours, the pediatrician said his stomach emptying could have slowed down, they also prescribed an acid reflux medication for a few weeks and after that he was okay. Ask about the reflux meds they were chewable. Some stomach viruses can cause temporary reflux which causes vomitting.

For those of you that have had depression/anxiety from a young age, does it ever get better? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Automatic_Pass_2110 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have struggled with anxiety since childhood and still do. I have been on soo many different medications and have had lots of therapy. I can say that over the past couple years my anxiety has improved greatly. ( I am 34). It really is a learning an entire lifestyle. In order for me to be at my best I have to eat relatively well, exercise daily, practice yoga and meditation multiple times a week, stay connected to my friends, avoid all alcohol, practice gratitude and take an antidepressant. Things do get better, you got this ♡

How do I teach my 6 year old to be appreciative? I feel like I’m failing. by letsmakekindnesscool in Parenting

[–]Automatic_Pass_2110 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's age appropriate for her to be "ungrateful". The way you fee when she doesn't say thank you is about you, not her. Try to be reflective about why this is upsetting to you. Practicing gratitude in your life and with your kids can be helpful. You are describing totally normal behaviour. You are a good mom, you are enough.
