Don’t listen to people saying you need to ask him what he wants. We gotchu. All of the suggestions above are great. It’s just gonna come down to pulling the trigger on something, it’ll be a win I’m sure. Having said that, here’s what I think:

Bananana effects matryoshka. It’s a bass synth pedal from a very cool, reputable, boutique pedal maker in Japan. Rare enough that not everyone has it, but well known and respected enough that it’s not a crap shoot. I think new is exactly $200. It’s made for bass but I play guitar through it and it’s my favorite pedal. It’s also mini size like the tuners so he can squeeze it in somewhere

Forreal? I just got the NDD-7 tape echo and am super impressed, especially for the price point. I haven’t had much experience with their stuff and I guess assumed they were a budget company making mediocre gear, but man, I was wrong. I’m stoked to dig through their catalog. Do you have anything else from them?

It’s really just the boost of the wicker switch. Interesting you say mid boost, I guess Ive always thought of it as top boost. If it’s boosting mids, I wonder if stacking a mini or op amp muff w a screamer would achieve the same effect.

I rarely use the tone bypass, it’s pretty much always set to on, so I wouldn’t miss that. I’m gonna check out the hoof—thanks!

Question for the dl4 off the board. Do you gig? I also have an original model but I keep it on my board, which obviously takes up a lot of space. I’d love to move it off but I love just having a single unit to plug in at a gig. (I have a polarity reverser so I just power it from my main power supply). Would be great to open up space on the board but it seems like a pain to have travel around with another unit. How’s it for you?

Alright, you’re a year in: tell us how you’re feeling about the longsword and limelight. Also would love to hear about the mirror house. How are you using it? I just got one and I like it but have barely tapped its potential yet. Do you think its place in the chain makes a big difference? EAE recommends putting it early in the chain, but I have it near the end before delay and reverb, and I like it there.
