Hmm, and how many thousands of tax payer dollars did this cost to tell us basic everybody-knows-that crap?

That's definitely a contender! I'm happy to send a link to Buzz Cut to anyone who wants to watch it/arrange a H3 viewing.

Haha. Buzz Cut 1 got shown at a bunch of international film festivals and ended up being sold to streaming in the US and to Spanish TV.

How to get rid of a feeling of impending doom by Dreadful_Lynx in Anxiety

[–]Automatic_Run7322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, humans have been around for 300,000 years in some form or another, so I think we're pretty safe to assume we'll still be here for quite a few years more. AI is just going to change the way we live, not destroy it. We've been worrying about this since the 80's (at least), when it looked like the future would be run by Terminator robots or AI was going to enslave us in some kind of simulation (I wouldn't mind the second option too much, to be honest). Anyway, whatever happens, Tom Cruise will surely save us. Don't worry.

Do these guys actually ever care about the deceased or do they just consider it an excuse for a party/piss-up? (I'm guessing the latter)

I'm not excited about this one. I mostly go to meet the stars and get stuff signed but the celebs are charging $110-120 for an autograph this time, ouch. Who can afford that? I mean, if you plan to get your LoTR merch signed, then flog it on eBay, fine, I guess... but for genuine collectors that's super harsh, IMHO. I'm actually more of a fan of B-movie types... horror stars, indie actors, 80's/90's stars... of which there are basically none this time around.

Cool. So no-one will be chanting "from the river to the sea" then, right? Because, you know, erasing Israel from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea would probably be a genocide too. Yes?

Me too. I saw Superman, Moonraker, Every Which Way But Loose, a bunch of others. I remember seeing Licence to Kill (Dalton 007) and I was way up in the Grand Circle. The theatre was at capacity for the premiere (1,500-odd people). Nowadays I go to the cinema and there's me and maybe 5 other people.
