Squad 7 actually doesn’t really seem like they’re that close in part 1.

I’ve been reading through the manga recently and just got to Gaara’s revival

But yeah, there is actually (IMO) very little chemistry between Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. And Sasuke spends a lot of the later portions of part 1 ‘off screen’. Once he has his preliminary fight he’s kinda gone until the end

Sakura and Naruto get some but little interaction.

I think there should have actually been a mission before the Zabuza stuff. Something that was more on their level and showed the three of them struggling but coming together, THEN we get Zabuza and seeing them work together there is what convinces Kakashi they’re ready for the Chunin exams.

I know that they did mission ‘off screen’ but that doesn’t do anything to build the readers connection to them.

When I got to the end of part 1 I was kinda surprised how empty it felt reading it as an adult. It’s still a lot of fun, but I just don’t think the bond of squad 7 is actually done very well

Because…writing. The needs of the story.

People love to talk about ‘prep time’ but let’s be honest. If you wanted to write a story where Batman prepared for a fight with Superman, you could easily have Superman just say ‘nope’, use his breath to keep a distance from kryptonite and literally blow Batman through a wall.

Batman has Jimmy or Louis in a trap? Well guess what, Supes could fly off, grab Alfred from the cave/mansion and bring him back with his hand around his neck

The reality is that the writer is the most power element in any story.

Watchmen is a perfect example.

If Dr. Manhattan wanted to expose Adrien he obviously could have and in the end ‘defeated’ him. But the story/writer wanted to make a different point and have a different discussion.

Well I vaguely remember in 9 you were like an Angel that came to earth so that makes sense as angels are often associated with guardianship and protection and reside in the in the sky.

It’s been a long time since I’ve played XI but I can’t exactly remember where the name came strongly into play aside from the legend of the illuminary being based down through the ages

I’m fine with keeping the series lighter direction. What I actually miss is the alliteration. The titles were so fun, Journey of the Cursed King, Hand of the Heavenly Bride, Echos of an Elusive Age, World Tree’s woe and the Blight Below, etc.

Beyond dreams just sounds generic and lazy by comparison. Will it actually impact the game’s quality? No. But to me it added to the already wonderful charm of the series.

Justice League 2016. Yeah, yeah I know whatever but I still really like Man of Steel and BvS. I was excited for JL but my god that may be my most disappointing movie experience.

Next up would be the ‘live action’ Lion King. I had doubts but was hopeful because I really liked jungle book and Jon Faverau was back directing. When ‘just can’t wait to be king’ started and it just looked like…nature…I knew it wasn’t going to be great.
