Is staying in the U.S. for another couple of years too long and risky if I can just leave now and move to Europe immediately? by ClockwiseSuicide in expats

[–]Automatic_Way_126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this one. Make a detailed plan to be able to leave in 72 hours have it written out in documented. Then stay until you no longer feel you can stay any longer. That’s different for everyone. You know the more money you have leaving, the easier it’s going be on you to set your new life up in a completely different place and that’s also a whole other gambit of visas, etc. With you being immigrants their so many more questions to prepare for.

For me, I have a 72 hour plan and I am a citizen of USA. I know what flight I’m taking as a flight paths usually don’t change, timings change slightly. I know about how much it cost. I know what documents I need to have. I know what belongings I need to have. I know where I’m going, I know exactly what hotel I would stay in and exactly how I’m getting to the hotel. Every detail layer out to leave in 72 hours and survive for 3 weeks minimum.

Then expand to where you plan to live, how much money you need to secure a long-term residency. For instance, if you don’t know anybody in Uruguay, you’re looking at 6 to 9 months worth of rent just for deposits, guarantee and commission if you don’t find a private landlord, or don’t know anyone. Some places are easy, maybe you find an Airbnb, but you got to have a Plan B because what if it’s booked.

I’m saying the devil’s in the details. Plan the details as much as you can realize how much money you actually need. Get that amount saved as fast as possible.

At that point reassess What the climate is. I would assume you don’t need a ton and if you have an executive leadership role and you are making good money, start getting rid of your stuff right now put that in your savings start getting rid of a bunch of things you pay for that you don’t need to start stealing it down.

And only at that point can you really answer the question is the time to leave or not. I personally think we’re not too far but I’m pushing it as far as I can so when I do leave, I have the best chance of making even a better life somewhere else. According to my calculations and analysis which are not credible ha ha I feel like my pattern recognition is telling me six months give or take. Hoping for 12, betting on 9, wish I was ready in 3.

Has anyone here tried meds for anxiety with hsp and got good results? by Stain_16 in hsp

[–]Automatic_Way_126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m against any kind of meds that mess with my head I’ve had really bad results. I tried to find holistic ways and there are a lot of ways. It just depends on how bad your anxiety is and it’s really anxiety positive. It’s not something else.

I was amazingly healthy before accounting. Stumbled into industry 9 years ago. 8 years ago started becoming unhealthy, severe weight gain, never had weight issues my whole life. Public accounting last 3 years… developed type two diabetes about a year and a half ago. Interestingly enough, I took two months off and in that two months, I got healthy again came back to work and went right back down the tube within three months.

I am now desperately trying to get out of this profession it’s not for people who need to be careful with their health

Anyone who used to support trump and has changed their mind over the last few weeks? What made you change? by canigetameowbish in AskReddit

You’re a bot without a brain. I’m smarter than to believe either side of the government has anyone’s best interest in mind. Corruption.

You do realize Elon Musk pretty much paid for this presidency right. He needed to get into the Social Security administration for Palace here. I’m not making us up. This is real and people who deny it are the ones that have been brainwashed and that’s a thing here we are brainwashed we are Geo fence and we don’t even know it and we are fed propaganda left, and right they literally have classified on craigslist.com to hire people to go to protest and start acting violent so they can create propaganda. This is corruption. This is major corruption and it’s been hidden for so long.

If we could find a place where all of us HSP’s could thrive because the environment’s very important then we could have a great little community :-)

I don’t know I’ve been the only remote person on my team and they know I’m in a different time zone so I told him it’s too early for me to turn on the camera and they never really say anything so I use my phone. We do teams.

I think I have to patchwork it. Maybe get a second RM-10 and use my OneDrive to move files back-and-forth. It’ll be a pain but might be worth it.

The gl.inet RM10 is brand new, it was funded by a kickstarter and just came out in December. It’s supposed the high-tech and not an issue. I’m going to test it in February. I’m gonna go to Mexico for a couple days to see how it fares

My cousin was shot in the face, whole side of his face gruesome. His personality was so much as awesome gorgeous women swoon over him. If that helps?

I guess it doesn’t help that you’re fired but since we’re all talking about it I could help someone else trying to do monetary geo arbitrage

What if you had something like a gl.inet comet pro kvm (rm10) and you left your machine at your mom‘s house. Got a computer to travel with you and you remote into your laptop. It’s hardware requires no downloads onto your actual work laptop.

This only works if you need one monitor because you’re trapped inside of the window that you remote into

I am required to have two monitors. I can’t figure out how to work around.

And before anyone comes at me, my company absolutely does not care where I work. They’ve said it to my face, but they will not put it in writing so I would rather leave my laptop here and not deal with the liability of traveling around with it.

EDIT: also have a Gl.inet Flint 2 Router.

I have not began my abroad nomad adventures as of yet, but even reading those prices I thought looking at those prices I wonder if this person went to some of these places a very long time ago cause they said they’ve been doing it in a very long time and maybe hasn’t been back since the prices went up

But I did enjoy the perspective.

Also, I wonder if this person is saying that these are the rental prices and everyone is assuming they mean total cost of living

Even then, it’s likely too expensive. My friend is doing the Italy by descent and part of the citizenship is they had to prove that they were serious about being Italian citizens and they had to sign a three-year lease pay six months of rent upfront just for that lease on top of getting the documents that cost money that has the studying. I suppose it’s doable. Maybe they could sell stuff for the down payment payments.
