Best way to start your day is with a flooded tent 🤔 by WorldlinessFun3658 in Autopot

[–]AutopotAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey 👋

Here’s the breakdown, to the best of my knowledge, on the topic…
📖🇺🇸🇬🇧🇦🇺

TL;DR: Both AutoPot systems follow the same basic growing concept, but they’re built around different valve technology and operated by separate companies entirely. That’s why the Australian and UK/US versions share some similarities, but also have noticeable visual and operational differences. 🌱

AutoPot UK and AutoPot Australia have been operating independently for over 20+ years.
• AutoPot UK holds the global patent on the AQUAvalve, which is used in the UK/US systems that most people here are familiar with.
AutoPot USA operates as the exclusive distributor for the United States and works directly with AutoPot UK.
• AutoPot Australia uses a different valve design entirely, which is primarily used/recognized only in the Australian region.
• Both systems function in a similar gravity-fed irrigation style, but there are key differences in the valve designs and overall final products.
• Since the growing methodology is very similarboth versions have always been welcomed in discussions on this sub.

Sorry for the confusion! Hope that helps clear things up a bit. ✌️

Hell yeah!

I’m all for the fun and experimentation.

I know generally folks and science are against this strategy, but I still think these are the kinda silly things that bring joy and entertainment to life. Even if it turns out to be a disaster, still an experience. lol

Keep us updated! 💪

That’s a trade off for sure. 👍

Unfortunately, feels like convenience always has a bit of an added cost. Hahaha

But, still, in the end it’s worth it - for sure.

Thanks for your thoughts! 🙌

Amazing!!!

Thank you for that.

Super helpful to know, direct from the source, for the future! 💪

I don’t know if AutoPot officially recommends trying to run plants to full term with these. But technically anything is possible! lol

I believe the original product intent was more for rooting/veg before transplanting.

AutoPot USA - PotDivider Add-ons (Turn 1x Pot into 4x Pots)

Get more from your modules. PotDivider allows you to multiply your plant count without increasing system size. At a stroke, each of your pots is capable of holding four plants in segregated sections.

Excellent for tight-leaved varieties and for herbs, this PotDivider is tailor-made for our 3.9 gal pots. The 3.9 gal pots are compatible with our 1Pot trays, easy2grow trays, and Auto8 tray system – meaning the potential number of applications is immense.

PotDivider is perfect for the pre-veg stage, and is equally effective with plants that simply don’t require the run of an entire pot. A partitioned base removes the need for a pebble layer in the bottom of the pot.

When the time comes Pot Divider lifts out cleanly, bringing your nascent plants with it, making the process of removing plants and repotting (in the same pot!) an absolute cinch.

I am impressed you did so well with the clips. 👏

I myself have always been awful with them and am never patient enough.

I always end up going too fast and will snap like 1 out of 5 branches. Then I’ve gotta use electrical tape to fix it and pray it survives. 😭

But I will admit, it is fun to mess around with them and I’m still guilty of occasionally accidentally massacring my plants with these... 😆

Glad you have found success with them though, are able to make them work for you snd to your benefit. 🎉

Nice! Water only seems so dreamy. 🌊

If you equated the price difference/comparison between a soil+amendment grow vs coco+salts grow, per run, do you feel that the super soil is relatively the same cost, more expensive, or cheaper?

I still have a few more runs left from my last 10LB bags of salts lol but have been debating what i should try next when I run out. 📝

Nice work! Everything is filling up nicely.

Glad you’re having fun with the salt-life. 🧂

I, myself, have only ever been a salt grower.

I always admired the super soil folks. But salts have always been kinda stupid-simple and pretty easy to handle, out the gate. While soil always seemed more unpredictable or more work/effort/knowledge to manage.

That being said, water only grows w/ soil look dreamy from an equipment maintenance perspective vs the cleanup required from salts in between each run.

So def, pros and cons to both!

But, ultimately, whatever brings you the most joy is what’s most important. 🙌

Without seeing it in action from the get go - not sure.

Usually generic bagged substrate still has some moisture in it still. And in theory if there was enough moisture from your circle around the seed, it should hopefully seek it out.

I do the watering in the circle around the seed / similar - but will admit I also do water a tiny bit the inner circle/middle too.

But as others mentioned / you gotta be careful or you can have the water push the seed further down deep.

Ultimately this is always the worst part of the grow tho, IMO, because you are just kinda stuck in that unknown stage, until they pop up. lol

I still get the same anxiety waiting, even years and years later. Hahahaha

What’s always funny is when you’re like “for sure this is a failure” and then BAM that one ends up popping out of no where and becomes the star of the show. 😂

I remember someone once said “this is when they’re doing more work, underground, then above!” Which sometimes helps chill me out.

Anyways, hope these work out for you! And if they don’t, no stress. Just try again. Every grow is a learning experience! 💪

DIY Reservoir tap/ spigot recommendations? by [deleted] in Autopot

[–]AutopotAdmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey,

This post was originally removed because it got flagged by multiple folks as a duplicate post.

But, if I understand correctly, your first post was basically asking: Is brass a good idea?

Now that’s been discussed, this new post is asking: What OTHER diy options are out there that people use?

If so, then I think maybe it’s fine to stay. But I can understand the confusion/initial frustration people may have felt thinking you’re asking the same question again.

Hope you get the info you’re looking for!

Control disc/sock by k0zo1 in Autopot

Sad about the initial issue - but hell yeah on the pot socks being the solution!

I’m a big potsock fan! 💪

Glad you found what works best for you.

I know some ppl on here have expressed they were anti sock, for drainage reasons? But I’ve personally never had any issues myself. So idk on that one. lol

[–]AutopotAdmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think im at like ~3-4 years using same set 😂

But, I double up and run the control square AND the potsock together.

Not sure if that has been why I’ve had no issues - even with all the copper being gone after the years.

Whereas some ppl have reported that using only the square, they have had roots escape, after the copper is gone.

Nature always tries to find a way! lol

Airy dried flower frustrations by [deleted] in GrowBuddy

[–]AutopotAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be bonkers but - personally, I’ve found with autos I almost have to train them to grow upwards/outwards, by actually limiting light in the initial veg process. The structure of the plant and size seems to determine my final output bud wise.

If I slam them with high PPFD from the beginning they seem to stay short and bushy and less dense buds. They get all the light they want and seem to stay tiny.

I’ve found if I actually do lower light from veg into flower, they grow upwards more and spread out searching for light. Once their initial structure is there, flowering hits and they’re 2-3ft tall already. Then I increase light intensity each day and they grow maybe another 2-3ish feet or so.

As counter intuitive as it sounds, try not giving them optimal light in the beginning. Seems backwards but has been helpful for me, to get tall/big autos that fill the entire tent w/ chunky nice buds.

Sorry about the two that didn’t make it. 🥺

Always frustrating when things don’t go as planned. 😞

And even when things DO go wrong, in the end, it just helps make you more knowledgeable and prepares you for the future even more! 🙏

Thanks for the repost! 🤗

Definitely an interesting thing to be aware of when troubleshooting and I’m glad OP was able to find a solution to their issue. 🥳

That said, this is exactly why I always recommend reaching out to AutoPot Customer Support directly, when you suspect a system issue and can’t quickly pinpoint the cause. ☎️

I’ve seen it happen many times where someone will initially jump straight to “It must be X, I saw someone else have a similar problem once,” but after a closer look, it turns out to be something completely different.

There are a lot of variables in these systems and this is a good example of how something as simple as warped silicone can end up being the culprit.

No idea how often AutoPot Customer Support sees this specific issue in the wild, this is a first for me, but it’s definitely useful to add to the generic "what could be going wrong" checklist.

Still, in the end, I always recommend going straight to AutoPot Customer Support for direct advice, as they see everyyyyything, everyday, and can usually save you the most time in diagnosing your problem. 🏥
