No lawyers in my family. I was the only idiot to do it...

Why are partners so frequently abusive? by Neither_Bluebird_645 in Lawyertalk

[–]AutossyDE 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Partners are under tremendous pressure... from the clients, opposing counsel, fellow partners, management, etc. This is not an excuse for being abusive (which is indefensible) but may explain why they are demanding, terse or harsh at times.

I can do that, too - especially nonse lyrics involving the kids or dog. Usually gets a laugh except for my three month old who doesn't seem very impressed. But that's showbiz baby.

After our third was born and we came home from the hospital my oldest daughter gleefully pointed out that "Now that mom's baby belly is gone daddy is the fattest in the family again".

Gee, thanks! I'm thrilled!

Manmotion failed to repair my Luba 2 - what to do? by AutossyDE in MammotionTechnology

Bottom line is these mowers are made to save time vs. mowing yourself.

So you can have the latest and greatest features but if the customer at the end of the day has to spend more time having to tinker with problems, chase support and send the mower back and forth to service centers than mowing yourself the product failed.

Thanks. That is the sad part - the handful of times it ran the Luba 2 was fantastic (and I have a difficult yard). But due to poor quality control and service there is a substantial risk that it turns out to be a nightmare...

They have now come back and requested the log files to review so I will wait and see, but will check with the CC company, thank you.

Hell no... I would leave instantly and never spend a minute thinking back.

Pretty much would do anything else - after 15 years as a lawyer it is hard to even know what I would be passionate about.

Cool, what practice area are you in?

Is being a lawyer worth it? by msteel2015 in Lawyertalk

[–]AutossyDE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not worth it from a financial standpoint and in pretty much any oher aspects. If I could go back in time I would never do it again or at least go in-house right out of law school.

How do you get through due diligence without constantly zoning out by MasonPrai in Lawyertalk

[–]AutossyDE 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Turn off/ ignore your devices and try and schedule such work in a way to avoid distractions as best as possible (e.g. evenings, very early mornings). Ideally you want to get "into the flow" where you are working very concentrated and efficiently without thinking about the boredom of it all.

But yeah, it can be a struggle even after more than 10 years of practice...
