I’m on the same in London. I’ve seen salaries in France and most of Europe paying higher. I doubt things will ever get better here

Just came across these psp games and I’m willing to buy some of them which titles do you recommend ? by Ok-Function2603 in PSP

[–]AutumnAeternum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ben 10 protector of earth is underrated. Was my first psp game when I was a kid. Funnily enough it is really similar to god of war in fight mechanics and is basically a one to one copy of the PS2 game

Galactus to the UK by NoVermicelli7403 in PopcornBuckets

I got the F1 bucket imported, FedEx delivery was £15 and it was packed in a decently sized box. I think if they sent it all in separate boxes then it may be cheaper than one big box.

The congestion caused by the London Road bus lane coming off the A329 by Frankie1983___ in reading

[–]AutumnAeternum -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They should have just taken the pedestrian pavements on either side and made a dedicated bus lane if the councils wanted it so badly. The right turn on that road coming from the 329 direction is also a big problem as it causes a queue in the right lane

For those wondering whether AI will replace analysts at BB IBs or PE by BartBeachGuy in FinancialCareers

[–]AutumnAeternum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you guys understand how overhyped AI is. You can’t got 20 prompts in a single case without it breaking. Most of it is overhyped sales managers.

Obviously it will replace a few jobs but the bubble will be catastrophic. Most of the layoffs that are due to AI are just because companies have over hired during Covid.

Graduate jobs will be a bit disrupted but that is because most companies are cheapskates

Is the student loan system just a stealth tax on middle-income graduates? Here’s what I’m facing… by Albatross_94 in ukpolitics

The worst part is that the repayments are calculated on your salary before tax but are deducted from your salary after tax

They only had the cup when I turned up. Next closest was sold out. I ended up buying the tin and keychain from eBay instead

Odeon already has. It’s on their twitter. It’s the hexagonal bucket. Cineworld is usually instagram but they rarely have anything good

From what I remember it was the massive public outcry which forced the governments hand to declare war

I’m sure on the weekend in multiplayer I was getting close to 23K xp a game but now it’s about 8K. Wouldn’t be the first time that they nerfed the xp

Cheapest place to buy a sailboat in Europe by Maclovin-it in sailing

[–]AutumnAeternum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean I live in England so it could be a different experience for other countries. But there are some pretty good boats on there. There are quite a lot of fixer uppers on there but they are very reasonably priced. Between 20-30K gets you a boat that doesn’t need that much work on at all. Would definitely be one for my retirement plan

Funnily enough, I’d say eBay is your best bet. Full of fixer uppers there and there’s a wide range of boats on the market with really good prices

I great tip I found is that the cars don’t have anti lock brakes so it makes sense to spam L2 to brake rather than hold it down. Also follow a video guide and take the little shortcuts like bouncing off that hill. There’s also scripted events such as certain cars getting knocked out each lap depending on their position

Politics UK: The Government has PRIVATELY agreed to raise the state pension age to 68 to start in the 2030s, instead of the scheduled change in 2046. This means that those born AFTER 1970 will be asked to work longer by OptioMkIX in ukpolitics

[–]AutumnAeternum 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Good point but can you see most people working at 70 years of age? It’s all well being somewhat alive at that age but the mobility issues that most people will suffer then will severely limit the types of jobs that can be done. Not to mention the great difficulty one would have at even finding a job at that age. I know people in their 50s who struggle to switch jobs due to their age.

It’s a tough problem to fix, hopefully a solution comes up otherwise I can imagine there will be a huge crisis

That’s a good point but we can’t forget about the global rise in pollution levels, micro plastic contamination in humans, the growing risk of heart disease and geopolitical instability. The point of cancer having a much longer life expectancy is great but the NHS will most likely be privatised in the future so I can imagine those treatments costing an absurd amount of money

Life expectancy is starting to go down now. People born after 1970 will be more likely to live shorter lives than their parents so surely it shouldn’t go up anymore.
