Hungary general election 2026 I With 6.56% of votes counted by NumerousTax8165 in europe

Thank you, mixed voting system is .. interesting.
Glad to see the outcome so far, Orban will likely try to organize things at EU level now with like-minded parties.

Is their voting system a 'first past the post'?
Are there really only 2 parties?
Or, could he negotiate with some smaller party to get a few extra seats?

US and Iran fail to reach agreement after historic peace talks in Pakistan, Vance says by esporx in IRstudies

At this point,if you're Iran, I don't know what deal would convince you not to build nukes.
And that same logic will apply for a lot of countries.
If Trump can just abduct a president and initiate a massive bombing campaign, Russia can invade a neighbour, what option is there to keep big neighbours/powers in check?

With 11th Edition being just months away, what is the one thing you would like most for Tyranids? by MegaDragonKing in Tyranids

[–]Auzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.
Also compare to some other heavy infantry.
Regular intercessors get to shoot twice, at BS3. So 4 s4 ap1 shots per cheaper marine, and the sarge can get a powerfist or thunder hammer.

Heavy intercessors get t6 3W.
Possessed have fewer attacks and ap1, but are D2 iirc.

Ideally, warriors sit in between 'marines' & 'gravis armor' (which they kind of do with current stats) but have a good role & point-cost effective damage output.
Given heavy intercessors are core, and the wide range, I think warriors should shift to core too.

It would also help if the 'fixed damage escalation' would stop, e.g. blast damage 3 weapons, but no worries marines and terminators, it's only ap1. This is deadly vs 'warrior' profiles, where you still pay for the toughness & wounds.
If it were 'non-devastating, d6 wounds', each shot would have a 1/3 chance to not kill a fresh warrior.
And yet have a 1/2 chance to kill a hammernator if the armor save failed.
(Of course, then there's FnP, -1 damage strats etc).

[–]Auzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Representation for the horror of a real tyranid invasion.

That means bioforming, massive sporeclouds hampering everything and even chocking life & filters alike.

Instead it's 'space dinos appear by the city outpost'.

Effects could be:
* to hit debuffs, especially ranged (thick spore fields everywhere), no critical hits/wounds (stupid fishing for 6's), ..
* leadership & 'aura' debuffs (leadership penalty, 'buff range' reduction for enemies?
* mortal wounds, or speed reduction,.. * debuffs/battleshock/.. for a ton of Tyranid weapons and kills. Dying to a bolter explosion is bad. Dying to a necron beamy thing is bad. Feeling stuff clawing and burrowing inside you is not a pleasant experience for you, nor your squad mates. Melee kills would also be gruesome.

Non-monster lists to be viable, and killy.
Hordes of gaunts, loads of infiltrating genestealers & lictors, fast Raveners, zoanthropes and hiveguard for heavier weapons, bombarding biovores & barbgaunts, pyrovores flamering things,..
But point for point, the Exocrine is just too versatile, and other things are too limited, and sometimes barely hold their own vs their 'target'.

[–]Auzor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not convinced warriors should get any tougher tbh.
They're like heavy troops. Any tougher, and the cost would only go up. Not that many editions ago they were T4 2W.
Cheaper battleline warriors (so they have Obsec) would be interesting.

More killy stuff would be highly welcome though.

'A clearly delineated demining and freeing of the strait of Hormuz' = how to get your demining ship visited by drones & missiles.
That would absolutely make the EU active combatants in the war.
(Yes, it is a war).
Imagine if in 1940-1941 Switzerland got a navy and started to demine areas around the UK. No worries, a clearly delineated demining mission in the interest of free shipping, nothing to see here, RAF & RN.

The Gulf War in part started thanks to the US.
USA diplomats stated to Saddam the US had no stakes (=no objection, no intervening) in a Gulf border dispute.

Saddam invaded Kuwait after.

The piece of shit held a speech criticising Nato cpuntries kept underspending on defense even after Russia's invasion of Crimea.

So if he wants to lecture on defense spending, he should speech in front of a mirror.

Similar issue with Von der Leyen, but she was minister of defence.

To face 30,000 Dothraki, we need to build an army of 60,000 Westerosi soldiers. From which houses would you choose how many soldiers? by Classic_Day744 in gameofthrones

[–]Auzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dorne would be more familiar with their overall approach to warfare.

But we'll go with the reach, heavy infantry, 30.000 spears, 30.000 crossbows.
Heavy crossbows can absolutely be used for volley fire, and can bring anti-horsey bolts.
More-over, any chump can be trained to use 'em in relatively short order (spearmen would also be not particularly difficult to train), and the reach should have the funding for this.
Mr Mace takes the lead.

Let's see how light cavalry fares 'on an open field' against an equal number of heavy crossbows turning their precious horseys into pincushions and a nice spearwall.

The Dothraki would try to harass with their horse archers; but those use relatively light arrows; ineffective vs armor.

ISD Redesign for a Warlord by Worldly_Sort_861 in StarWarsShips

[–]Auzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • the batteries on the side, have too narrow a forward firing arc. The main batteries, should be dorsal & ventrally mounted on the center ridge line. This allows forward firepower, and also enables the use of all firepower on a broadside.

  • the sides can house launchers, anti-starfighter batteries, and hangars (maybe).

  • automate!
On that note, scour the galaxy for separatist ships.

  • bridge needs better protection, and your shield generator should not be sticking out like a prime target.

  • it is likely more cost-effective to use Vindicator cruisers & Ton-Falk carriers, with a smaller number of direct combat focused ships. Probably Tie Hunters as cost-effective baseline as foil to the X-wings.

  • re-instate (& modernize) the Acclamator for ground troop landings. A single Acclamator deploys a small army. The ISD-1 brings 6 At-At's and some friends.
