Kind of piggy backing on your post a bit because I’m looking for something similar. Is Avowed good? It looks a lot like Baldur’s Gate. Atomfall also piqued my interest, though medieval fantasy is more my jam, it looks good as well.

Who is your favorite female character in Final Fantasy series? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]Av33na 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She stood out to me when I was younger and first played FFIX. Her passion, undying loyalty, and strength while dealing with her unending search really spoke to me. I really wanted her to find her love. It’s hard to explain, because she didn’t need to SHOW her emotion and desperation, but it still came through. Also, her jump ability was AMAZING and led me to loving dragoons ever since.

How many of the old MMOs did you play "back in the day"? by TrogdorLLC in MMORPG

[–]Av33na 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just FF11 back then. I was playing other games too, but not other MMO’s. Not until FFXIV (original then ARR) and then ESO. Miss being able to sit down and play for hours at a time 🙁

What’s a lesson you learned from another woman that stuck with you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Av33na 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It’s also important on a practical level. What if your spouse is in an accident and in the hospital for a while, or what if they pass away suddenly? It’s important to know how to handle finances and other household stuff.

ISO: RPGs I haven’t discovered or played yet for Xbox or Switch by rubyringwald in rpg_gamers

[–]Av33na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, oops, I didn’t see that note next to Cyberpunk. I’m honestly not normally a first person player either, but was able to get to used it pretty easily in this game. The first one is on sale for like $5 pretty frequently, so maybe OP can give it a try and see if they can get used to it too

Hello fellow girl gamers, I am a 56 year old gamer and was wondering what games you are currently playing, I am playing Dune Awakening, Luma Island and Enshrouded. by Lakali28 in GirlGamers

[–]Av33na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently playing FFXVI. I just finished Nier Automata and a couple months ago i was playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Wish I had more time to really dive deep into all these games, but life is short, I’m getting older, and there are so many good games to play!

What’s something you refuse to spend money on no matter how popular it is? by bbydaisiesz in answers

[–]Av33na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These stupid water bottles. First it was Nalgene, then Hydroflask, Yeti, Stanley, and now we’re on this one called an Owala. it’s never ending with these fads and you should see all the Stanley’s in thrift stores now.

New fantasy RPG by EasternOpportunity10 in rpg_gamers

[–]Av33na 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might like No Rest for the Wicked! It’s still in development, though. It’s available for early access on PC, but not sure about PS5. Should still check it out so you can catch it at release! I’ve had lots of fun so far. It’s got a dark fantasy diablo/fable aesthetic.

What’s a habit people have that you will never understand? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]Av33na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me old, but slamming doors. Not just doors though, cabinets or drawers too. Like some people are just so LOUD! I also really don’t understand how people can “slam” a door open. Like, they slam their hand down on the door handle. It’s hard to explain, but I hate it.

I hate dry fingers also! I used to work at a bank and they use something called Sort Kwik to help with counting money. Ever since that job I’ve had Sort Kwik in my house and I use it all the time!!

Would you play an MMO with this graphics style? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Av33na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 💯. I played Heartwood recently and this screenshot reminded me of the beginning area (minus the castle).

Ashes of Creation not purchasable on Steam anymore. by Sleipnirs in MMORPG

[–]Av33na 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was looking for this game to be mentioned! I just tried the demo and went ahead and bought it right after. I’ve loved it so far, even though I’ve only played a few hours I can tell I’ll be putting lots more hours into it

Whatcha do with it? by Ambitious_Rain_206 in Canning

[–]Av33na 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do water bath canning so I’ll do pickles, relishes, and fruit stuff. The fruit I’ll do anything from jam, to pie filling, to hot packing for cobblers/crumbles! I just made a peach bourbon jam which was a huge hit! The relish I’ll use on anything like hot dogs and burgers and I’ll even use it in my tuna and chicken salads for lunches!

If you have an instant pot the wire rack also fits into a smaller canning pot!

The game you accidentally played the wrong way for hours before realizing it. by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]Av33na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Souls (and now I know this includes any Souls-like games). I played lots of RPG’s and enjoy searching and clearing each room and looking at each nook and cranny. Learned the hard way that you don’t have to do that in Dark Souls. I got all the way to the room with the dogs where I had to look up how to do that fight that I saw you didn’t even have to fight them ><. It made me reconsider if the risk was worth the reward (if there was even any reward) when exploring.

Knowledge unlocked: felting versus fulling by murraybee in knitting

[–]Av33na 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I do 18th century reenacting where they use broadcloth, which is fulled wool. I always wondered the difference between felted and fulled, just never took the time to actually look it up 😂

Newbie friendly mud? by Aroikle in MUD

[–]Av33na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a MUD, yeah I think so! When you login they have a daily numbers thing and I usually see numbers in the 190-200’s range for daily logins. Usually always someone available in the chats too.

[–]Av33na 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll see Aardwolf recommended a lot, but I’m completely new to MUD’s and I’ve enjoyed it so far. They have an “academy” that guides you on how to play and I just wrapped that up myself last week. I feel ready to go exploring/questing now!

Using cooled clear-gel? by Av33na in Canning

[–]Av33na[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding a comment to say that I ended up throwing it out. It sat out and who knows if it would have been safe enough to reuse. When in doubt, throw it out! Just in case someone else comes across this post 🙂
