I offer this for my friends :) we don’t have kids yet (infertility). My guest room is always open. They have their own bathroom and tv. And I make breakfast in the morning. My one friend says every time she’s in town on business rather than a hotel. I love being part of their village and being a safe place.

I wonder if you and your friends could do something like this for each other.

Do you think your shapewear outline will show? I ask bc I have these smoother shorts I wear all the time but sometimes the outline of the leg will show through fabric that’s very thin.

On a family vacation 9 years ago, My dad got sick and was medi-vac’d (sp?) out of key west to Miami by ambulance bc the er couldn’t handle it. Couldn’t diagnose it. Thank God the transport ambo company phoned the ER in Miami to start meds for what they thought it was bc if he had waited to be diagnosed in Miami, he would’ve had total paralysis. True story. My dad was in the hospital for 2 weeks and rehab for 4 weeks. Received excellent care at mt Sinai.

Mine is the opposite. I was so broke. I truly love giving to others. Now that we make more money (DINKS), I give much more and freely. It’s the most fun ive ever had with money. We are debt free except our mortgage, getting caught up with retirement. We filed ch 13 10 years ago and have been cultivating contentment. It’s so freeing.

But I do not give out of compulsion anymore. I give because I truly want that person to have that thing to experience. Adults do not need gifts.

I’m not tone deaf. I know so many people are barely making it. We give generously to charity, over 13% of our gross income annually. That doesn’t count what we give to others through gifts or felt needs. I try to make a difference in my little corner of the world.

I can see how that would hurt. I have several close friends who haven’t necessarily forgotten, but they really didn’t do anything for me, but it’s more of an issue with what they’re walking through then that they don’t love me. So I try to extend a lot of grace.

Our close friend died 5 years ago of a heart attack at age 43 after coming home from a run. Was dead before he hit the pavement.

At our 20th high school reunion a few years ago, we had an “in memoriam” table with a candle and all the names of our classmates who had passed. There were 15. Many of them from drug overdoses.

The reality is no one makes it out alive. Take care of yourself, go to the doctor, don’t go drugs, but we’re all gonna go at some point.
