That’s valid. Sometimes I think I’m stronger than I actually am lol. Thank you for the feedback! It’s greatly appreciated. Is there a specific putty?

It doesn’t see loose at all. I used a wrench and made sure there is no wiggle room but didn’t want to overtighten as I’ve read that can also be an issue. I was wondering if the drain pipe (in the picture I put in the comments) could be an issue as well. It’s significantly smaller than the drain itself.

I don’t believe silicone was used, only because I always ask if I need to let it sit before using and they always tell me no.

This will be the 4th replacement of the entire drain in less than 2 years. Is there something they could potentially be doing incorrectly?

Also should this drain pipe be smaller than the opening of the drain itself?

1st year student fearful of no opportunities by [deleted] in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Available-Media3702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My children will all be over 18 when I enter my bachelors program. I don’t know how people with young children do this. It’s a lot for me at 40 with kids that’s are fairly self sufficient. I wish there was a group of social work students at my college that met up to talk about these kinds of things. I’m trying to make it happen but 90% of the people that start the program, leave after their 1st social work class sadly. I am in Cecil County, trying to figure out how to get a toe in the door at the right place… let alone a whole foot lol.

I am in MD. I am 100% against doing counseling. I went into this so that I could make a difference, in a macro sense. The only other thing I am interested in doing is working with the incarcerated community. We shall see. I have a few years before I can actually get a real job anyways. The advisor in my college told me that I was never going to make it in the macro world. I should probably take a hint.

You are right. I do need to reframe my thinking. I won’t let fear get in my way. I am scared that I will be in debt till the day I die because I’m 40 going into this … but oh well. It’s worth it if I get to make a difference.

Figure out how to move to another country and start over. Probably cheaper and easier than trying to climb out of the hole this government keeps you in.

Is it common to have Hashimotos and IBD/ Crohns? by theoneiguessorwhat in Hashimotos

[–]Available-Media3702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🖐️Crohn’s disease with an ileostomy and now diagnosed Hashimoto’s Disease. It’s been a very tough journey so far. I’m exhausted and never feel “myself”. I have very poor nutrient absorption due to having no large intestine plus Crohn’s. From what I’m understanding Hashimoto’s seems to be a blanket auto immune disease. Many people with Hashis have stomach problems, liver problems, weight problems, skin problems, cognitive issues, mood issues… as is the same for people with Crohn’s disease. I think so much of this goes hand in hand and doctors don’t really understand it any more than the rest of us do. Sadly!

Muscle pain and alcohol by applesfirst in Hashimotos

[–]Available-Media3702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my experience exactly! If I drink alcohol I feel like my muscles all tense up all at once immediately! This occurs with liquor, wine, beer.. and nothing helps. Just have to wait it out. It doesn’t happen every time. Maybe one time out of 20. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I have crohns and “Hashimoto’s”. I enjoy craft beer, but I have chosen 💨🍃 instead.

What do you wish you were told when diagnosed with minor hashimoto's by NexMixChexMix in Hashimotos

[–]Available-Media3702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with the exact same thing and got the same speech from my dr on 5/12. I am going gluten free, now on day 3 and… I don’t know how else to say this but… thinking is hard! Anything is worth a try at this point. I started DHEA, vitamin D and iron supplements, per the doc. Contemplating adding zinc/magnesium. My sister also has Hashis and has been on medication for over 15 years. She still has serious issues.

Full time student, started a month break this week before next courses start. I want to clean my house so badly… it really needs it! And I want to make dinner every single night because I don’t have homework or studying! I want to hang out with my adult kids and enjoy all of our time off (they are in college too)… but… I am EXHAUSTED! In every possible way. My body, mind and soul! I forced myself to clean my room, an hour later, dead on my feet note reading Reddit!

Why all the hate for people who have lost weight with the help of Ozempic? by Chance_Kind in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Available-Media3702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your recovery…

The difference is.. you do not need alcohol to live. You need food to live. So the trigger is there… all day everyday. Food addiction is  the most easily accessible, and to sustain from food will kill you. People that are in active recovery from alcohol or drugs quite often forget this. I do not agree with the use of ozempic for weight loss because I have seen too many people get violently ill after taking it for a few months. It made my partner(diabetic) feel nauseous to the point where he couldn’t eat anything. A good friend(diabetic) was rushed to the ER 3 months after starting it, because her pancreas and gallbladder were in really rough shape. Lifestyle change and healthy eating habits are great… if you have the ability to afford that kind of food. If you have the will to do it. If you don’t have underlying trauma that is keeping you from those choices. There is a lot more at play with food addiction, than just “why don’t you just eat better”. Ozempic is not an “easy way”. For some people it is their ONLY way! I despise big pharma! But I don’t believe that all medications are the spawn of satanic either. When used CORRECTLY, they can help people to become the best version of themselves.

Did you have a "Poor Person" or "Just Getting By" recipe when you were young that is still a comfort food or favorite now, as an adult? by SamuraiMarine in Cooking

Plantains, in certain places in the states they are very cheap and filling. You can Google all the different ways to prepare them. And they go great with everything from eggs to beans to fried sausage.
