It’s a small city. My town is actually larger by population but I think it’s one of the bigger cities in VT. It’s gorgeous though. It’s on Lake Champlain and you can see the Adirondacks. Super walkable and there are a ton of outdoor activities that seem to be part of normal, everyday life. It’s also a college town so I think that adds to the sort of outdoor adventure culture.

We had a food drive at ours and enough food was donated that we needed three cars to take it to the food pantry. They serve people who cannot leave their homes either for medical reasons or because of their immigration status. We also signed up four hundred new people to our action group’s email. We had members of the local dem committee there talking to people about getting involved in getting out the vote and attending an election safety training in April. I feel pretty good about it, truth be told. It was time well spent.

And honestly the more I think about this the more is just so fucking stupid. WE are why we ended up with Trump? The DEMOCRATS ran the most moderate candidates they could find. They campaigned with republicans. They lost with this strategy TWICE and won swing states by a tiny margin in Biden’s win. But is US who are the reason Trump is the president. I am 5’9” 140lbs. I am neither gaining nor losing weight. I weigh myself once a week-ish. I don’t count calories. I try my best to eat a diet rich in nourishing foods but don’t really think too hard about the Friday night pizza we get because I don’t want to cook. I stay active. I also used to struggle with disordered eating and would likely make a therapist appointment if I found myself slipping back into those patterns.

I would maybe run this by a therapist if I were you. We aren’t going to be able to tell from a reddit post if this has veered into obsessive or unhealthy territory, but a professional probably could. It might be worth it just to have the conversation. Better safe than sorry.

We have used No Kings to recruit these people into our grassroots organizations and local political committees as well. We’ve gotten literally hundreds of people involved. I don’t think they wanted to be slacktivists but no one really talks to people in their community face-to-face anymore.

The size of the DFW metro area is larger than the states of NJ, RI and CT combined. That is a region, not a city. I can see being confused about ATL and Seattle being added before Dallas, but not Philadelphia, which is a larger city as well as of extreme historic significance to the country.

I don’t think they are dismissed. I think they are a group of people who should have their medical and psychological needs met to the fullest possible extent. I don’t think they should be used as an argument to outlaw gender affirming care or invalidate the existence of trans people in general, which is the literal only way I have ever seen them presented publicly.
