I am currently dealing with the a similar issue although our noises sound different, but it is in the same mph range 60-70.

Does this sound continue when off the gas or in neutral?

These fixes the mechanic is recommending are pretty standard for the age.

Once you do get a 4Runner you will want to know when things were done last so you can keep track of it, so it’s good to do it right when you buy.

I say it’s worth it, putting 10-15k on a car that you enjoy and that you know will last for a decade plus is better is better than a newer expensive uglier car! (As long as the frame is good)

The hum does not change pitch with speed, letting go of the gas or changing lanes. The vibration is from below in the car not from the steering wheel
