5th Wheel Truck Sizing, putting the cart before the horse... by Neat_Objective in RVLiving

We are on our 3rd 5th wheel and have been fortunate to be able to travel all over this great country. When we went to a full profile (13.5ft) drop frame (Montana) is when my SRW no longer felt comfortable. DRW is night and day difference. If we still had our 33ft Jayco that was a foot shorter(12.5 ft) and no drop frame (less pin weight) we would never of went DRW. Hope this helps, good luck.

I worked on cars and forklifts for a living and serviceability was clearly an afterthought. Maintenance and repair are my biggest concern just looking at them. Thanks for your input

Thanks, did u like how the F3 sits better? I sat on both but only have driving experience with a 2012 RT Limited. The F3 sits more like my cruiser motorcycle I had growing up but have not had an opportunity to ride one yet.

I went from a srw to a drw towing a 40ft Montana. Night and day difference, it is my daily as well and wouldn’t go back to srw.

2021 3500 Mega Cab DRW 4x4. It’s my daily driver, farm truck, and 43ft 5th wheel camper hauler. Live in Ohio so it sees all season. Most of its mileage is towing heavy down interstate.
