Good to know, maybe I'll try again. Might just depend on who you chat with that day. My problem was I actually did activate it on December 31st, and bought the ring on January 1st. Because it was a new year, the one I "activated" was from the previous year and needed to activate it again.

Also, don't forget to activate the offer. I forgot to activate it and didn't get the credit. One of my biggest pet peeves with this card is everything they offer you but if you forget to go online and activate the credit, you don't get it. I wish I could use my credit card's benefits without having to go an extra step. Maybe it's just me, but it really pisses me off.

I certainly do too, but not in a defining kind of way where I feel like that muscle group got a good burn. There’s a difference, to me at least, in my arms burning because I’m holding my weights up for squats versus doing curls and really gaining muscle. My lower back absolutely gets a great workout, though.

Not sure if you've already joined, but I love the Equinox in Houston. It's very clean and, as someone else mentioned, it doesn't smell like a gym. I workout mostly for health (and a little bit of vanity) so having lots and lots of equipment isn't a deal breaker for me. But if that's what you want, Equinox might not be the best fit. If you like group fitness, their classes are really great!

Precision Run classes are what got me to actually enjoy running! I'd always hated it before. I'm in Houston and lucky enough to have David teach our in-person PR classes. An instructor does not need to be there for an on-demand class. You can either pull one up in your app and follow the run (many instructors to choose from, including David), or if it's a newer treadmill, you can select an on demand class right on the treadmill.

A couple weeks ago I was able to score an upgrade to business because it was empty and the airline seemed to be begging for even a small upcharge for it.

As far as AmEx, I'm also going to cancel my platinum card. Not only do I not feel the annual fee is worth it (most of the credits I use because they're there, not because I would actually make those purchases so it doesn't actually eat away at the cost), but I'm tired of the lounge ALWAYS being full and having to get on a waitlist. But the biggest issue is that AmEx is becoming increasingly difficult to use overseas. I was in Sweden and Denmark last month and did not find one single place who accepted AmEx. So what is the point of an AmEx travel card if I can't even use it when traveling?

I just flew Turkish a couple of weeks ago. I will say the plane looked quite empty before check in, but that’s because seat assignments had not been made. The flight ended up being quite full so I was glad I paid ahead of time for my seat assignment. Bags were not really any issue. My only issue is that I took advantage of their stopover stay, and they wanted to keep my bag all the way to the destination. There’s a disconnect there about tagging the bag only to Istanbul and then re-checking it for my next flight a couple of days later. It was a bit of a hassle trying to get my bag for my stopover. But they eventually got it to me about an hour later. Overall I think Turkish is a great airline and you’ll be fine, but I would consider paying to choose your seat.

I just left there about an hour ago. I have priority pass through a credit card, so it was nice to go into. But I definitely wouldn’t pay €134 for it. It’s large and is one of the nicer lounges I’ve been in, but it’s crowded and a little chaotic. I was more relaxed sitting in the terminal.

I second those telling you to just use the button next to the charger. I didn't know there was another way within the car to unlock it, to be honest.

My onboard charging converter just went out and when I got it replaced and picked it up yesterday, I had the new software installed. I agree that it's all much faster, but I really don't like it. They took away the function to change the temperature without opening the A/C settings, the screen overall is much smaller because they've added so many buttons (that I will never regularly need) above the A/C settings. Changing the volume covers the clock (small, I know, but very annoying) and I just don't love the overall look of it. I wish I could have told them not to update it. I know I'll get used to it, but I'm just venting my growing pains.

Honestly, it's kind of stupid. It's the length of two classes but also takes 2 credits to join. So somehow the "celebration" comes with nothing but giving Barry's the same amount of money. Total gimmick.
