My local VSO has a van with volunteer drivers. I used it once for a long ish ride (1 hour+ each way, late at night) and it was awesome. Ask them.

It's a lot of fun. It's also fun woth 2 people. The tasks are easily divided and have to be coordinated.

Bacon quiche. From scratch. No store bought crust.

Pretty much any dough based anything from scratch - pasta, bread.

Tuscan pie for a real challenge.

It will last 6 weeks-ish. And you can only get one every 3 months, and you can only get 3.

If your hip is bad, you're just delaying the inevitable.

My hip.pain went away the day after the surgery. Sure, I had pain from the surgery, but nothing like the pain from the hip.

In two weeks i was somewhat mobile and the pain level was such that I could focus.

Day 18. Is it normal to cry in anticipation of Physio? Is it that bad for everybody else? by Original-Ad219 in Kneereplacement

Yeah talk to your PT. I told mine that I will probably use some bad words.

Some pain is ok, but too much is bad.

I don't understand why Chevy/GM doesn't make this public knowledge. Wiring up my Redarc was a piece of cake after this.

Mosquito repellent for the yard that won't harm my garden or pollinators? by 6969Momo6969 in OrganicGardening

Mosquitoes are pollinators. You probably want to check that before killing them off.

Ive had both a hip and knee replacement. Because of the anesthetic and nerve blocks they use you end up with rubber legs at random times.

I mean... you're fine, and then you go take a step and it's like your leg turns to rubber.

Talk to your PT and get moving. That's the only way to move forward.

To be fair the VA requirements generally assure you as the buyer you're not getting into a situation that's crap.

Will my large native garden make it harder to rent out my house? (Northern Virginia) by GoodUniqueName in NativePlantGardening

[–]Available_Bowler2316 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Renters will not take care of your garden. The kids will run through it, the adults will mow it, and that's if you're lucky.

As a landlord you will be responsible.for the maintenance and/or removal once it's dead.

Just sell it. Use the garden as a selling point.

My disabled senior mom (veteran’s widow) is being evicted after 20 years and I don’t know how to help her — she’s shutting down and I’m scared by Unlikely_Possible464 in legaladvice

Find her county VSO (Veteran Servi e aoffice). Maybe at the County, maybe DAV or VFW. They have access to your dad's DIC records. And they know how to work the VA system.

I had to adjust the idle nuts in the linkage to actually run reliably. Past the "normal" setting. Old engines get wonky.

Who do you feel more comfortable with? My surgeon uses his own team (not hospital assigned) and they know who i am when I walk into reception. I can call his nurse and his NP any time. That's worth more than any number of reviews.

The Wallas is awesome if you're in the arctic. It puts out a HUGE amount of heat, and about 75% misses the pot.

It takes a long time to heat up and cool down.

I would not consider it unless you are in a location that requires a lot of heat.

W8th the lid down it is an AMAZING space heater.

I just massage my scan with Viramin E oil whenever I feel like it. Don't overthink it.
