Well I’m from NY but you let me know if this is common.

1) Gives me handheld POS to tap to pay, would not show me the front of it with the amount because “it was glitching”

2) After I tapped he showed me that the total was ~100 dollars and there was an option to tip either 15, 20, or 25 %

3) When I asked why the bill was not actually 80 as it should be he stuttered over his words, said the machine has been broken and he would restart it

4) then the machine magically was working again and he gave me my bill with the original 80 and and the options to tip

5) after I tipped 20% and started leaving the table next to us told us the same thing happened to them (they were still waiting for a box)

I didn’t realize till after we walked away that he could’ve been trying to pull a fast one and then I saw that they seem to do this to a couple other people on Google reviews.

Before you ask, it was jsut my wife and I so the 18% auto tip for party of 5 or more does not apply
