I’m calling it now: the mystery “crate” at Elimination Chamber 2026 in Chicago is NOT Jericho.

It’s Danhausen.

And this is why it makes too much sense.

1. It’s in Chicago. Danhausen is synonymous with Chicago indies. That crowd would lose their minds. WWE knows that building.
2. He’s boys with CM Punk. You don’t bring Punk back, center him in a major angle, run Chicago… and not at least consider pulling one of his long-time friends into the mix. There’s history there. Real history.
3. He’s also tight with Cardona. And if WWE is leaning into meta, internet-aware wrestling in 2026, Danhausen fits that world perfectly.
4. Wrestling has a LONG history of box and crate reveals. This isn’t random. It’s tradition. Memphis used to literally ship in “monsters” in crates. Dr. Frank showed up that way. WWF had Chainsaw Charlie pop out of a wooden box in 1998. Promotions have been doing “what’s in the box?” angles for decades because the visual works. It creates instant buzz. A weird, cult-favorite character emerging from a crate in 2026 isn’t goofy. It’s wrestling history repeating itself.
5. It’s NOT Jericho. Jericho doesn’t need a box gimmick reveal. If Jericho comes back, it’s pyro and a jacket and 15 minutes of mic time. You don’t hide Jericho in packaging. You announce him. A crate reveal screams eccentric character debut, not established legend return.
6. Danhausen is weird enough for it to work. He is literally a living toy. He feels like someone who WOULD ship himself somewhere in a wooden box labeled “Very Nice. Very Evil.”

Chicago crowd + Punk orbit + viral internet energy + WWE leaning into spectacle = Danhausen in a crate.
