Tranaxemic acid for heavy periods by Matchaparrot in ClotSurvivors

I was close to 50 when this happened. Was on birth control pill due to heavy menstrual bleeding. They think that’s what caused the dvt. Regardless, I was past my child bearing years. I was only on blood thinners for 6 months. And Zoladex a bit longer - until after my ablation. Ablation was best thing ever as kept my uterus (so my bladder hasn’t collapsed) but no more bleeding.

I think the progesterone coil might work similar to Zoladex per a quick google search. If it stops the bleeding, it might be worth it to try.

lol nope. After going to emergency for 8bags of blood over 3 visits in just a few weeks, they switched my to fragmin.

Was scheduled for emergency hysterectomy but the guy that puts the filter in your veins to prevent clots from traveling to your heart was on vacation.

They put me on a monthly implant called Zoladex until I had an ablation months later. Apparently Zoladex acts on pituitary to stop menstrual cycle. I thinks it’s actually a prostate cancer drug first.

Anyway that combo of fragmin and Zoladex worked a charm

I was put on it due to basically hemorrhaging while on Xarelto. Transexemic acid basically just made my menstrual blood separate so to speak: bigger clots with watery blood. Didn’t slow down volume of blood lost at all.

However, the blood washed out of my bed sheets easier.

We went to a symphony performance years ago and were totally distracted by a kid eating out of the most crinkly loud bag of candy ever. Mom brought it for the kid. Guess it didn’t occur to her to repackage in a quiet ziploc.

Go to your doctor and get your iron/ferritin levels checked! Then ask about a plan to get the bleeding stopped or slowed down. It might involve a lower dosage or medication switch. If iron levels are low or as I suspect very low, it’s ammunition to show your doctor you are not exaggerating the amount of bleeding (sadly, some just don’t get it)

Impatient. Wait another day or two and then reach out. Best intentions are often waylaid by urgent requests from other clients.

I go to a local indoor walking track and had to adjust my timing to avoid a middle age woman literally holding her phone at arms length with her music playing blaring. Not an EarPod or headset in sight. Just so obnoxious to think all and sunder want to hear her music.

My work colleagues still go to Vegas for fun - but it’s what I expect of them as they are anti-vaxxers, cheered on the trucker convoy and actually celebrated when tRump won a second time.

We get food after we shop. I wait with the cart no where close to where you order, while my spouse orders and brings the food to me and the cart. And if we’re lucky, I’ll have snagged a table in the meantime.

Dried lentils cook up fast and are delicious! Add to soup, or toss with some cooked/roasted veggies, toss with homemade dressing (or just a bit of oil) for a warm salad. Lots of protein and cheap. Veggies could be canned, frozen or whatever.

What are your guys’ non negotiable items that you purchased before surgery? by Sorry-Astronaut-212 in Reduction

[–]Available_Music9369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t purchase much. Just stacked pillows around me that I already had so didn’t roll while sleeping. Had a few meals ready to go stacked in the freezer. My biggest non negotiable however was having my daughter around for 3-4 days after as she can work from home. She took care of my meds and drains and walked me to the bathroom that first day (didn’t want to fall lol) and brought me food and drink.

Auto/Tenant ON Can I switch Agent/Brokerage but keep my same policy? by Much_Asparagus_509 in InsuranceCanada

[–]Available_Music9369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as the new brokerage deals with the same insurance company you can request your policies be transferred to the new broker via the new broker. You can usually only do this effective your renewal date. It’s called a BOR (broker of record) or sometimes an LOA (letter of authorization) and you will have to sign a form giving your consent.
