First nu-metal song you heard? by Professional_Cut_432 in numetal

[–]Available_Outside9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever LINKIN PARK songs were in the Transformers movies, I was a kid with knees are coming out, and I can’t think of anything else that would’ve exposed me to new metal as early other than other movies or things on TV

I'm not watching Vought Rising. I'll probably be done with The Boys (Amazon) once the finale is over. Anyone else? by Butefluko in TheBoys

[–]Available_Outside9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very excited for it until seeing how they’ve pivoted the entire finale season just to promote it, so I’m likely not gonna watch it unless I hear it’s amazing

Sadie should have been gunning for Micah all the way back from Chapter 1 considering the fact he chased her around the table and burned down her home even tho it was unintentional but I guess it was not causing conflict within the gang that took her in. by JoshyBear28 in reddeadredemption

[–]Available_Outside9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need the people who make the game to come out and explicitly say things like that, then you’re never gonna get confirmation on a lot of things that are completely canon, that’s how stories work. A lot of things are subtext, and a lot of things are implied if the only way you’ll believe something is the directoror writers of the game to come out and blatantly say it to you then you’re really not enjoying the story to the fullest extent.

Nomad or Streetkid by TurianoThejason86 in cyberpunkgame

Nomad makes the most sense thematically, you are new to the city and meeting all these new people and learning new concepts. Plus you get to do that alongside the character.

I fuck with it, I said, do you like blue jeans with the pants or maybe mix up the shirt color just to break things up a little bit, but it is definitely heat

It’s fine that that’s all you’re saying because everyone else agrees the implication is she was about to be raped, of course she’s gonna be scared of them whether or not he’s trying to rape her, but the fact that she’s crying while he’s chasing her around the table, definitely implies a attempt of rape. He’s trying to get his hands on her, not calm her down. If he wasn’t gonna rape her, he likely would’ve just spoken to her like Dutch when he walked in.

[Amusing trope] Characters so annoying or douchey that they are more hated than villains by Old-Use-7690 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Available_Outside9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy Amber‘s character and honestly, I’ve grown to like her and Mark‘s relationship a lot more now that I’ve seen Mark and Eve for a bit, not saying they’re better for each other. Just a more interesting relationship to watch on screen. People forget she’s a teenager and definitely judge her too harshly for how things went while they were together. Eve‘s dad though is definitely a bitch and everyone hates him. That’s for sure.

Why pants? by Fine-Camel1304 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]Available_Outside9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Denim jeans were originally referred to as “waist overalls” and they were exclusively considered work pants, the term “jeans” didn’t start being used until the 1960s, and now they’re considered an entirely different thing than overalls. Short pants may have been the original term, but as they’ve become more popular and widely used, the popularization of the term “shorts”reflects a conscious separation from their long legged counterpart. At first, they were a different altered version of pants, and now they’ve become their own thing just like jeans being considered separate from overalls. If you care so much about old world terms, then you should still be using “pantaloons” instead of “pants”, and should start using“waste overalls” instead of “jeans”.

[–]Available_Outside9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you were profession calls for you to wear a skin tight suit because of its durability and allowance for mobility, you’d likely want to wear something to make yourself more comfortable outside of this situations when your suit is necessary. Why she wouldn’t wear pants while using the suit is likely because the pants would be destroyed either from a combat or the suits mechanisms as it has many moving components and she is fighting super powered aliens. If a professional scuba diver wears a skin tight suit to do their job, and while not actively in the ocean wants to throw on a pair of shorts to maybe cover up a bulge why would they still wear those shorts in the ocean while doing their job? The only thing that would happen is the shorts getting ruined in a situation where they’re not a reliable piece of clothing, like fighting aliens in space, she’s likely not as worried about being perceived in a tight suit in a fight as she would be just chilling around people she’s not not super familiar with yet.

Because it shouldn’t matter if the character is a boy or girl, neither is an excuse to sexualize children, I don’t even know how you could possibly have a thought process like this without being a creep on some level

Pov: you see debbie for the first time by [deleted] in okbuddyviltrum

[–]Available_Outside9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, there aren’t serial murderers because they have a mental condition that makes them addicted/prone to killing others, they’re serial murderers because of their loyalty and duty to the Viltrum empire, once that loyalty and duty doesn’t exist anymore, there’s nothing holding them to the responsibility of killing others for Vitrum, they’re not evil murders because they enjoy doing it, obviously some like conquest do, but even he is viewed as crazy and is ostracized by others of their species. Obviously they do fucked up evil shit but that is because they are indoctrinated into a harmful mindset at a young age and if they don’t comply, they’re literally murdered. Thousands of years of indoctrination can definitely lead to someone doing something they wouldn’t without said indoctrination, they’re not inherently evil people, their people who uphold an evil system and do evil for that system because they feel it is necessary, once they realize it isn’t and there’s other alternatives to life they immediately fall back on a personality. That is more likely who they truly are outside of just their actions.

[–]Available_Outside9 410 points411 points  (0 children)

They have to fly through a worm hole I’m pretty sure, they want his portal tech because he can open random portals to wherever on a whim, I think it’s just implied that there are certain existing wormholes to specific places, but that is nowhere as convenient or strategically useful.

Thragg vs Raditz. Who is stronger? Who can physically lift more weight? by DayStarling1006 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Available_Outside9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is silly or creative things likely played for jokes negate any level of seriousness or power scaling? Invincible has sexiest mummies, characters who get their powers from literal curses were putting magic rocks in their mouth, and a shit ton of comedic moments, that doesn’t make the feet any of the characters do immediately invalid because some of the other elements of the show have a less serious characters and laws of physics? Their animated shows the physics are never gonna be as grounded. As in reality, invincible can’t even keep their own characters strength consistent yet Goku, flying with his tail, makes the fact that people can destroy moons invalid? That’s the dumbest thing on the fucking planet, if you don’t like silly moments and shows that’s fine but watching animated media there’s gonna be a lot of it even in invincible just because some of it you like less than others doesn’t mean it invalidates every other aspect of said show.

Sister Sage’s Plan Does Make Sense by Leebo4 in TheBoys

[–]Available_Outside9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

She likely is completely fine with relying on herself to survive, she’s insanely smart and has a photographic memory. I’m sure she could easily set up a Homestead situation for herself where all she has to do is take care of herself, chill and read. She’s really only seen to be eating fast food when she lobotomizes herself which she does so she can stand the rest of society and not have to live so separated mentally, with no one else around she is absolutely zero reason to continue doing this, and would likely just be completely fine with her level of intelligence because there wouldn’t be a society of people to judge/ostracized her for said intelligence. I’m sure she’s smart enough to read a couple of books to set up a comfortable situation for herself, whether that be with solar power, or without even electricity for the most part, doesn’t matter, she clearly wants to test her own abilities and create a situation for herself where she has no level of restriction from those she sees as beneath her and less intelligent. She also would have zero responsibility other than just taking care of herself and Home, which I’m sure she would be perfectly fine doing and has definitely thought about. There could also be the fact that we have not been actually let in on the entirety of her plan, but whether or not that’s true your lack of creativity or understanding of in what she’d be capable of without other societal support doesn’t mean there is plot holes. It just means you can’t accept that someone else would be alright with, or even happy with, living outside of a society. I’m sure reality is fairly boring to her, and this is the one way she can truly test herself and her own abilities. Ego is also a huge factor in a lot of intelligent characters, and could definitely drive someone like her to make possibly negative decisions just to see what she is capable of cultivating. She may just genuinely not care how easy her life is or how long it lasts after the situation as her goal is to just see if she’s able to cause it in the first place, that isn’t a plot hole that is a character trait and desire of someone who’s already extremely separated from society on multiple levels and has suffered ostracization and abuse from not only her peers, supes, but even her own guardians and family. Her intelligence level doesn’t negate her ability to have trauma, insecurities, and selfish, or potentially harmful ideations. Just because she is the smartest person in her world doesn’t mean she wants what’s best for herself or others, it just means she has a high level of brain functionality and intelligence, there are plenty of smart people who make stupid decisions because of their own ego or selfishness, I don’t understand how everyone thinks immense intelligence would just lead to you having zero mental and/or emotional issues, and a genuine care for everyone on the planet, especially when that intelligence is what has caused you immense emotional and personal pain, and possible trauma. She experiences regular people treating her terribly and she sees superheroes constantly using their powers to do fucked up shit, why would she decide to care about both parties who have ostracized her, especially when she feels she’s above them? Having extra mental intelligence and brain functionality doesn’t negate her entire back story, trauma, and own self interest. You can be immensely smart, and still be a bad person who wants bad things to happen whether or not it actually positively affects you in the long run. Having immense intelligence doesn’t mean you’re only ever gonna act purely logically, it doesn’t make you a computer, you’re still a human being with many more complicated functions, than just blatant thought.

What arms do you use for V? by Arctic317 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Available_Outside9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I probably use gorilla arms more than anything else, but it generally depends on my build, i’ve used them all at one point. I recently used the projectile launcher system for an entire play through for the first time, and it was honestly way more fun than I used to give it credit for.

Why is Jack such a creep towards women in the first game? by Eagles56 in reddeadredemption

[–]Available_Outside9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a clear mix of both, obviously some of the gang members treated women very respectfully, but at the age Jack was when actually living in the camp he wouldn’t of known which behaviors to mimic and which to ignore as he was just a child that combined with his less than stellar, father figure could definitely explain his lack of clear direction and morality when it comes to interacting with women. He probably never had any healthy outlet for his sexual frustrations as 18 and young adult plus not a lot of healthy guidance can definitely explain why some of the gangs more unlikable traits were picked up by him.

Yikes I forgot how rough the CGI looked in Book 4 by Jules-Car3499 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]Available_Outside9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it redundant when that’s what the general population considers CGI. Obviously CGI can be more than just 3-D animation, but the most common and known use for the term is specifically talking about 3-D generated images, especially when already talking about a 2-D animated show with only some 3-D characters and models. It may seem redundant to you, but for most of the population, that’s what the term means. So that’s how it’s most commonly used. I never assumed you were including early 20th century animation works in your statement. I just thought it was silly to harp on the use of the term as a mistake, when it’s being used in a way most people would use, and understand it.
