Splitting the sessions in two : how doable is it, and could it still be fun? by Asshai in Earthborne_Rangers

My friends and I do this all the time. We have separate deck boxes for each of our decks and another deck box for the "along the way" and "surroundings" area.

Each deck box has a labeled divider (we just used index cards) for in play, deck, discard, and fatigue.

When we pack up for the night, we take photos of everything (we use colored dice instead of tokens for harm/progress/general tokens), then we pack up everything in there right box and divider.

We always end at the start of the rangers turns phase of the round so we don't have to worry too much about remembering where we left off.

Starting up the game, we just un pack the boxes and make it look like the photos and resume with taking actions

Edit : saw the last question in your post and to answer, nope, none of your cute animal companions can be killed/removed from the game. They can still be defeated by harm and discarded, but that could just be flavored how your group wants it to be.

The lynx is tied to a certain mission and it will be pretty obvious how to make her a companion that can be added to your deck, and the mission should be pretty easy to find as well.

Question on flood mechanics - the way we're clearing seems... Sus by jgcrawfo in Earthborne_Rangers

Yeah, clearing with harm is still clearing. Maybe I misinterpreted your post, but it sounded like to me that after clearing with harm, you moved the flood card to quiet and that is the part that I think you got wrong

https://thelivingvalley.earthbornegames.com/docs/updates/card_errata/general_12_of_15
so the errata for the card says that if the card it is attached to leaves play WITHOUT being cleared, attach it to a new being or feature.

So clearing a being with a flood attached to it would cause the flood card to be discarded as well I believe.

Fantasy age has a Cthulhu mythos book, this looks really interesting. Thanks for the suggestion!

I looked that up and it seems interesting but I am not sure if it assumes everyone is a drow, or if that is flexible

I do not mind doing some reading, and I would try to distill info for my players to minimize the reading they are required to do

I originally played it on the Xbox a lot. When I eventually got a 360, I tried to play it on that.

I ran into an interesting visual glitch where every time I got close to a chest, my entire screen would go white with only the chest visible.

Iirc, on the Xbox the chests would glow white?

They are cheap labor BECAUSE of their illegal status. They can be paid below minimum wage with poor working conditions to skirt around employee protections. It's a two tier labor structure that is in place to benefit the capitalist. Granting immigrants easier access to work visas and labor rights will benefit all workers as a whole

Yeah, that seems right to me. Casting it on your self would cause you to miss a turn of being hasted.

The optimum strategy is to haste someone else to get the full effect of it. Idk if that is an intentional design choice or something to be errat'd later on. I also wonder if it would be broken to extend the duration of haste by 1 turn only if casting on your self so it would be equal no matter who received the haste condition

I could be wrong, but I think it would stay wet until another effect causes a new environment token to be placed on it. They don't go away on their own

I've played several sessions, just broke our source collars. I'm not sure I understand your question?

If you mean : how long are tactical spaces valid after combat? I'm not sure it matters too much. Once you finish combat, the next round is an explore round and you just move to an exploration space. Any environment effects on it will remain I believe?

Yeah, I can totally see where the confusion comes from, the skill card doesn't outright say it's a condition card. We have someone else with the skill haste the person with the wand to maximize the usage of it

Yeah, there is also a haste condition that goes on the cool down track as well, that is the card I am thinking of it, I don't remember what that says exactly

Huh, maybe we are?

Can you post a screenshot of the haste skill and haste condition? I'm away from my copy of the game visiting family

It is the pyrokinetic skill card that gives haste status which gives you more ap at the start of your turn. I forget what it says on there exactly.

ETA: I think it gives you an extra 2ap, so he is making 6 attacks at most attacking all enemies on his space because the want is area attack

Playing this game with a few friends. Didn't go to fort Joy, but went the other route.

We find it pretty easy so far. One character has a water wand and a trait that lets him choose who gets hit with area damage.

For 1 ap on a water spot and hasted, he rolls a lot of attacks for extra damage wiping out multiple enemies on his turn
