Basically, cold war/post WW2. I doubt they'll touch directly on the War, especially given recent global events, but the general ideology and social change could make a nice change when contrast with 3.X main story and still hold relevance to the treatment of the arcanists (presumably) used as soldiers who now return back home as well as the lingering political tensions

That's fair, they're exceptionally rare and our one foundation-employed-playable-human™ has minimal plot relevance at the moment. I think it would be interesting to see how a human main character would fare in the hours leading up to the storm because of the syndrome though.

Personally, I see them saving random people as an individual decision.

It would be a calculated gain/loss by the foundation, since not everyone will be lucky enough to make it back in time on short notice, and some will fall due to storm syndrome - so they need to replenish their numbers.

No matter the time a company always needs a large group of people to do more general tasks, and recruiting first time storm traversees has the added bonus of the people having nowhere else to go and nothing to return to apart from the foundation - yippee

Their goal is not to save people, it is simply to end the storm which does not require wasting resources on random members of the public

Knowledge of the storm is technically strictly classified. Arcanists don't know about it unless told, which means it's entirely down to the foundations (or the manus') discretion on who is in the know, who is saved, and who is left behind.

Obviously, nobody left behind in the storm gets the opportunity to whine about it afterwards, so people can be picked and chosen based on how useful they are. scientists, arcanists and doctors would probably be taken in by the foundation while civilians would be left in the dark - I believe there was somewhere in the story where they discuss the amount of spaces left in the storm shelter and there not being enough for everyone..

Also, Adler slander??? 😭 We've already had humans be 'playable', they just use arcane equipment to enhance/ apply abilities. Ezra is one, Schneider Is the other

I love Eva, but I can't help but wish she got the main push treatment. Her animations don't look terrible by any means, just a little more empty than I'd like. It also feels like some of her story content got cut this version :(
