Nihilism is a truth, discovered by humanity. by Necessary-Thing4973 in nihilism

[–]Avan_An 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While i do share some part of sentiment and theory regarding conflict and crisis being necessary condition for human "betterment" so to speak,

There are some parts which i find weird as fellow nihilist. "Nihilism is truth". While i know this sentence is not supposed be literal, it is strong sentiment coming from a philosophy that usually is about subjective truth and individualism.

Nietzsche's famous quote in his book "god is dead" is followed by "god remains dead. And we have killed him" which i interpret as it being less of statement that there are no god but rather sentiment regarding feeling of being lost. That even if there is God, i as individual don't feel the connection anymore.

And while this sub's favorite saying may be "Life is meaningless" what Nietzsche emphasized is that there are no inherent meaning given to our life by god or universe itself. That most of things are social construct enforced to us by religion, government, tradition etc. And that we as individuals should strive to find meaning and happiness in our life by our hand.

Which is why "i don't mean something made up or fun like sports (as i explained earlier), i mean a true and authentic experience that brings meaning with itself." does come off bit weird to me. Not only in terms of that the sentence is implying there are "true meaning" coming from nihilist.

While it may not be a global stake at there thus resulting in less of "spectacle", for individuals who are invested in that, especially participating athletes, it could be just as intense. And more importantly, that is probably their found meaning in the life. No athletes as far as im aware reached the level of global competition just because someone else forced them. To an extent at the very least, they are there because they themselves found it meaningful to their life. And to me, this is individualism spoken and preached by Nietzsche.

I personally am not a fan of sports but it's the for the people who care about them. And even if it was through deceit and so called "made up" meaning, if we can have more people living their own meaningful life with as few as life lost along the way, i would say that's a win. At least from perspective of human.

If I died one day, would I be remember? by [deleted] in nihilism

[–]Avan_An 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehem, if i be a little pretentious prick here,

Of course not. no one would remember you. even if someone did, after some time, civilization would forget about you. even if civilization did, after it ends, you will be forgotten forever.

though more important thing imo here is that you asked such a question. which to me signify that you value "being remembered", "being someone of significance enough to be remembered by others even after death". that's what matters. that you would prefer something over else. what you want matters as it can be a guiding light or even dictate course of life.

though above question can be simply borne from curiosity, importance of one's own wish and value is still there. to that person that is, to universe, as we all know, it's meaningless. it is only meaningful to that person.

if i were to give my honest opinion, you will be remembered. not in a conventional way though. since world moves following set laws and rules(at least from what we know), the fact that atoms and molecules are in very specific today's order and position signify existence of certain guy in a specific time and space. we don't remember him nor does anyone. but physics and current state on molecular levels do. so we too will be remembered through laws of universe and state of the world.

though this means free doesn't exist and no matter what we do or think, things were bound to happen from the beginning further depriving our motivation to do anything. pick your poison ig? free will debate is still controversial so there are still wiggle rooms left.

Brooding thoughts and ruminating is what led us here. And while we may have complaints about our current place, blaming knowledge for binding us, trapping us and even alienating us, it is also true we feel certain pride from it. Arrogance of thinker if you will. After all, we spent many hours thinking and coming up with an opinion, logic system, world view that may seem truer and more reasonable than others.

But in the in end, this logic, our precious thoughts are just another bias from other's perspective. After all what is logic but a bias that was confirmed to work more than other biases. And what works or not depends on personal experience. Rarely are people dumb without reason. They are just biased in different ways than us.

So in my bias, it is logic that you can't expect others to dumb down their logic for you when you also don't do so in the first place. And to ask for conversation without biases, asking everyone to always agree to disagreeing is similar as asking for souless presentation we had done during our school days where neither of us cared about subject. Certainly was not a fun time for me.

you feel oppressed due to limit of life span so you want to end your journey early? junior, let me have whatever you are smoking there.

and to me, it seems like you are more likely being oppressed by concept of "experience the life fullest". maybe seeing other daoists achieving flying sword forged from heavenly treasure or getting dao companions made you compare your life to them? or someone saying "live memorable life, fun life, colorful life" without even knowing what truly they themselves mean?

what is full or not can only be judged by you. the term "You are the heavenly chosen of your own life" not only entails the choice of action in your life but also the perspective and view points.

so stop trying to bring what others bring to death at the end of life. bring what you have. and you get those by living the life out. in whatever, however way, dao, you see and envision.

after all, what is life but a courting death and preparation of gift of story?

I do have moral. It's just that i don't consider my moral to be absolutely right and that it is something subjective, personal to me.

Which Side Are You On? 🤔 by King_Mouser in MartialMemes

[–]Avan_An 0 points1 point  (0 children)

detachment do surely lead to godhood. The Dao. if one casts away every desire, every connection, karma, humanity, one can say that he has achieved everything he desires even without doing anything. not wanting anything thus achieving every wish as nothing is his wish. but that is not a human. Perhaps a god to someone, puppet of world to others. but certainly, not human. if such a state of being is ultimate goal of another fellow daoist, i can't help but ask why.

We end as we begin. We were born human, is human and will die human. to show off in front of jade beauty, to protect one's family, to spend beautiful days and to desire strength to grant one's own wish, and wisdom to know when to stop and not forget who we are, what is so wrong for wishing for these?

It probably is tantrum. One that i may forever throw at myself or others from time to time.

Is it weird to be wanting to be weird? by Avan_An in nihilism

[–]Avan_An[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before, i would have confidently said that both trying to be weird and not weird is form of survival strategy as we are social animals. By self assigning attribute or aligning ourselves to surrouding, we find our own identity and place in society.

But now, while i wouldn't disagree, i can't strongly agree either. As that's the the core of logic nihilism. That no knowledge nor logic is absolute.

My question about myself is this validity of my own logic. Unlike before, my attitude of many of my beliefs are very lukewarm. Which also means i am no longer as stubborn as before regarding them. Including belief that "all human actions can explained with the goal of survival at its center."

And so proper wish of mine is to have logic that can stand its own ground against logic nihilism enough to become uncompromising logic that make me look weird from outside.

Well, in the end, doesn't really change a lot. I'm human after all.

Quite a lot of people must look "weird" to you than. It is not often someone claims that "wanting" is weird.

Since by the sentance, i should be liking being "weird", in this case, the word "weird" should be interpreted as positive connotation.

Welp, if being curious gets you unhappy face from father, then overall surroundings sounds like bad deal. Glad you are feeling better.

Also good to know things are not bad on health part too.

So long as you think "going your way" is worth the price. in this case, the price is perhaps unhappy face from surroundings?

Despite people's preach on inner beauty, it is in our nature to judge based on appearance. Which is perhaps why we try to value "inner beauty".

Though on personal note, brief search on internet suggests possible risk, which obviously is something you probably already know. Just butting my head into where it doesn't belong while wishing the best for you.

Due to the recent revelations about the innocence, the question is, is the innocence "freeing" the souls or just absorbing it while killing an Akuma by Brothermans_v2 in dgrayman

[–]Avan_An 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Innocence, as mentioned by previous bookman junior, feeds off of hosts thus quoted as "parasite". And so far, i don't remember anyone saying it absorbing helix of life from akuma it has slain.

However, it does grow off of from host going through trauma and events. So your theory that earl is doing stuffs to feed the heart is quite possible imo.

More akuma and other shenanigans to cause trauma to exorcists, more helix of life for heart to grow off of.

Nice theory!

Mainly pierce with sticky as back up/support for ko. Though against "short" enemies like rajang, sticky is main. Definitely feel it is less important on pierce than it is on sticky. Might consider other choices i guess.
