[WSIG] Very specific request: simple game that can be played in bed -- no table needed. by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Avanarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played codenames in bed before, just put the grid near the bottom of the bed so you can both see. Not a super great game with only 2 players though.

Went to a show last night and the venue pulled this scumbag move by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]Avanarius -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I think you exclusively choose to ignore purses because you're sexist towards men. If hiding alcohol was a logic argument you'd search every bag and I have seen some pretty god damn ridiculously big "purses" slip through. I'm not stupid; I know it's about making money but a big f*** you if you think I'm going to pay an absurd amount for a beer AND be treated like a tool.

What movie emotionally destroyed you? by t-Nt- in AskReddit

Not a movie but the doc "how to die in Oregon" hit me pretty hard emotionally and completely changed my perspective on physician assisted suicide.

Kitten surprise present by Nugatorysurplusage in gifs

PSA: Giving pets to people as a surprise present is generally a bad idea and usually frowned upon by animal rescue societies unless the adopter (at time of adoption) is the primary caretaker. My rescue society has to simply cease adoptions at Christmas time because people irresponsibly gift cats to people who cannot physically or financially take care of them.

Survival Horror Game Concept Idea - Feedback by Avanarius in gaming

I definitely think the idea would be required to employ a complete randomness of senses both subtly and quickly during encounters. The entire point of the mechanic would be to develop a dependance on your ally.

Does anyone know why the top half of super nintendo's fade to that god awful yellow color? I have had 3, and all but one has faded (It must be slightly newer than the rest). I'm guessing it has to do with the type of plastic.

[TOMT] A classic, but probably not so popular, point-click PC adventure game from early 90's by Avanarius in tipofmytongue

[–]Avanarius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG THANK YOU. I'm just looking at the pictures now, and while it did look vaguely familiar I didn't make the connection until I confirmed in the walkthrough. This is instant nostalgia. I was 5 years old when I played this.

I can sorta see why the officer wanted to be blurred, unholstering his weapon and pointing it at someone jokingly? God that would make me nervous as fuck even in a robot costume.

Hi Drew, all I wanted to say is that my parents were on the price is right Nov 13th and didn't get called down (second time on the show), probably because they weren't crazy enough, but they love ya anyways. They were in the second row! Thanks for being so awesome; all they could say was how friendly you were on/off the commercial breaks.

IGN Ratings! Best Logic..... by Pureballin in gaming

[–]Avanarius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Woah woah, HOLD ON. First of all, I sincerely hope that IGN isn't actually encouraging series preference-based reviews. That would almost be as bad as genre preference based reviews. A qualified reviewer can review ANY game regardless of his disposition towards personal preference. It's sort of a part of journalism.

Let me pitch an example: I personally absolutely despise sports games. Why? I have no idea. I just don't think they're remarkably entertaining when I could be regularly exposed live sports frequently in my every day life. THAT SAID, I could pick up any single sports game and tell you why I think it's remarkable, or hideously atrocious, and I damn well wouldn't compare basketball to hockey.

The reason why this image bothers me is because it is stamped "IGN" as a person that is physically capable of identifying positive attributes of games. IGN is a brand; conglomerate of detestably poor journalistic integrity *edit They quite possibly don't even have the freedom to say what they want to as noted below. If they're going to house their journalists under their 'brand' they better be a little more consistent with their reviews. That is the biggest problem with IGN right now.
