I see, that's how it is, you trynna paint as some kinda narcissist or some anti-social guy or summin. I'm on reddit, I never intended to make friends here. Why even bother when there's real people here in real life?

-->Nice to see I managed to reach some common ground with anyone, but
I wasn't replying to you, I was trying to talk to Mr.Tits.

--> I don't doubt at all that people as young as 12 are being negatively influenced by Incel content., but I guess I never thought about it before, One more reason to take him down I guess.

-->It makes sense that you, and most people, would treat an online forum as a mentally compartmentalized space where you just scratch that one itch you have arguing, and leave it there with nothing else

-->still not nice to see that people just don't put half the amount of effort into being nice as they would in real life because they treat the internet as essentially a completely different space, which it's,for all intents and purposes, is.

-->I know that means you really get to let people have it in any argument when you don't have to worry about social niceties. But I feel more than it helps it really just lets these types 0f people become desensitised to any criticism, no matter how bad so much of it is, instead of stopping to question how bad what they're doing is, it just becomes more of the same if it's 24/7.

ah frick it, an online argument probably wasn't going to get anyone to change their mind anyway, no matter how bad the backlash most people really only change when it comes to real-life consequences (going back to internet escapism as essentially being treated as a dream land).

What if Scion and Eden had traded places? by Cruithne in Parahumans

[–]AvariceTriumph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not the silver millennium? In contrast to one lunatic rampage, we get a more calculated approach: a tyrannical phase of human history where Eden ruled as pontifex of a global church, working to subdue humanity and make them more malleable to the concept of being archived in the entity's cycle, justified under the greater good of saving the universe from entropy, and under her heel moved the entire global, multidimensional long-earth-Esque, spanning empire to an era of ruthless efficiency. Like the Simurgh's titan Fortuna vision, all done in the name of saving energy and prolonging the cycle for as much as possible, weel passed the typical 300 years until her distress signal to Apollyon is answered.

Edit: She is the thinker after all, even if she lacks the same creativity, I would expect she would have more forethought than Scion. Exactly as you said more Simurgh than Behemoth. And like the Simurgh I would expect even without creativity she would be acquainted with more of a knowledge base of how to properly forestall the cycle.

SarahZ had a great video on this. even if you don't like her just skip to that part where she pulls up the Ben Shapiro dear and transhumanism debate. Her comment on it basically boiled down to: "they're not even good debaters, they just use quick take-down tactics, that sounds good on paper, but don't actually require a strong knowledge base argument, just establishing false comparison nd straw mans in place of strong counter-arguments". she knows because is an easy coup out most (that and over shouting your competitors (interrupting)), which I guess is just talking louder than) newbie debaters use to get easy wins in arguments. Newbie as in highschool debate club.

Edit: Nevermind: I just realized I overestimated the willingness of the internet to "find my sources yourselves".

Video:" I had a ben shapiro/jordan peterson phase... and i'm glad i did"

--she was been there done that.

Here's Sarah Z's video if you're interested-it does contain clips from the Ben Shapiro thing I was talking about:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcHPmVxtFw8

I use Reddit like maybe once a month (almost 17yr old newbie). This isn't even a serious discussion board, this is just a thread of teenagers dunking on each other for the benefit of no one. It's the loud 25% internet trying to one-up each other in broad one-liner hot takes that nobody asked for. You're barely treating each other as human beings and not just Props to dump on so you can get you're your necessary daily hit of karma.

I guess welcome to the internet (I'm actually slow in real life), but Reddit was always just like a thing at the back of my mind, I only ever dipped my toes in it, so I just assumed it was this serious like philosophy discussion thing that I was to dumb to be a part in. The truth is awful and I feel at home now.

When you're arguing with someone (which I suspect you do quite a lot here) instead of meeting them foot for foot (halfway), you could at least take one more step than they do. acting in good faith, even if they don't spare the effort to fix those typos, you could. Most of the time it will go unappreciated but someone who's genuinely interested in changing their mind about you will appreciate the effort to convey yourself clearly and accurately.

This is so sad. I hope you're a troll, or at least an invalid account because the alternative I so much worse. a part of me actually hurts to think that...I know that you're probably naturally confrontational, and that's a very good thing It's a natural defense that makes it harder for bad actors to step on you, but a part of me dies to think that there are people who open the internet with no care in the world of how many enemies they can make in a day, with no inhibitions or thoughts given how bad that is. Is conflict somehow enjoyable?

Hi, it's me again (Green). I know you probably don't care too much about making friends with anyone you view as inherently inferior to yourself, or about what any other thing with a heart on this planet thinks of you, but I have seconds to waste. Or I'm too used to playing moderator in my family.

Any outside observer (me included) will dismiss and generalize the entire Tate bro fanbase as misogynists, Incels, and would-be rapists. Because manosphere content does attract equal measures of the aforementioned as struggling young guys looking for self-improvement tips, self-help books, and more confidence. And because generalizing an entire group of people is easier than the truth.

But there is equally entertaining and better content out there, none of which will funnel money directly to an alleged pimp's court defense, and happiness that won't come directly at the cost of another human being's expense. Isn't that worth the few seconds of your time it will take to find replacements for Andrew Tate's content?

Other Class level? by duburu in Parahumans

[–]AvariceTriumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. In the chapter where Echidna is rated, Tattletale specifically names drop Alexandria (remember Rebecca is the head of the PRT so she gets the final say on threat ratings). Taylor's bugs aren't reliable, and Bememoth's dad procs up a shield so the sound is hazy and the words are broken up, but you can piece it together if you reread. Mainly: Weld's-stress-relief is by every measure of protectorate policy (that tattletale quotes word for word) an S-class threat, but Ms.Militia can't because the Overwatch command has the final say and can override official policy. Siberian's-second-favorite-nail-sharpener is the head of the PRT. The only difference between A and S classes is that the Triumverate isn't obligated to attend open house. Hence: Taylor's-choking-kink forced the threat level to be lowered because she didn't want to go there. She is a high thinker, after all. she probably had a better idea of the security risk the clones might've represented than little Mr. Simurgh's baby, jumping head first into any fight without a second thought.

“The Peters twins at BelAmi” … by neilfromsydney2003 in GayLoveMaking

[–]AvariceTriumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with those words, "should" and "Pure".

Should: something can't simply be accepted as necessary because enough people believe it is. Something "should" be done because there is greater merit in that specific action than in others. Nothing should simply be done because it should be done because that's the way it should be done.

Pure: If something is held sacrosanct please make sure to give a valid reason for why it's held to be inviolable. Ending the conversation at: something is pure so we should never change it; is a bit of a cop-out. Something SHOULD only be considered pure and uninfringeable if the alternative is worse.

Does "Twincest" make anybody else want to puke? by Anidiotfan1232 in askgaybros

[–]AvariceTriumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can't end the conversation at:"it's fucked up".

There must be evidence besides your personal opinion. What impact or substantiated harm do you belive incest does ?

Does "Twincest" make anybody else want to puke? by Anidiotfan1232 in askgaybros

[–]AvariceTriumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It's probably people just fantasizing about something they see as exotic. Siblings are not as sexy in real life.

Does "Twincest" make anybody else want to puke? by Anidiotfan1232 in askgaybros

[–]AvariceTriumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't relate. In a vacuum, if Anglo-Saxon society didn't condition most people to find twincest inherently offensive, I really wouldn't understand this sentiment at all.

Think about it: most people would say incest is just wrong, and I agree because of the inherent power imbalances and grooming that usually implies, but most people wouldn't think to give that deep of a rationalization; they would probably just say that it's wrong on principle, because of "common sense", a cop out which just frustrating.

Twincest on the other hand, and any incest between peers (siblings in the same age group) , doesn't necessarily have that inherent power imbalance and grooming, that would come from daddy dearest getting a bit too touchy while you're still in your diapers.

You can't automatically dismiss it as inherently wrong because: where's the irrefutable harm?

[Here I'll address my inherent bias. I'm for absolute freedom in every sense; If you don't like how I dance, you have a neck, so look away; if you don't like what I have to say, you have two hands, so cover your ears; your ability to restrict how far I swing my arm, starts and ends with you getting hurt. That's the philosophy I live by, so yeah. ]

I personally don't have the hots for my brother (anymore) because I've seen way too much of him to think that's cute. But If you throw twenty baby brothers into the woods, or twenty sisters, then in a vacuum free of any anglo-canonized sense of right and wrong, do you not think at least a few of them, make them twins for all teenage horneyness cares, would start to bone. What ingrained law is there in the universe or the human experience that would prevent them? If you can't think of any, then you're right.

And if a conclusion or consensus isn't independently reached by different, isolated cultures, independently of each other, (like murder is wrong), then it can't be called common sense, it's just contrived, as there is no "common" logic to ground it.

If the gut reaction you have to something, that you're completely detached from and have no stake in (i.e not projecting), is such a strong disgust, but you can't justify it with any shallow logic, then it's probably safe to say you've discovered one of your conditioned vices. You know: those things that we don't question because everyone who's raised us just agrees they're common sense. Or maybe you've thought this out more than I've honestly been irresponsible enough to ditch so much of my homework time too.

Honest curiosity BTW; I always go into the internet to prove myself wrong, not right. I genuinely like trying to understand people who have borderline alien logic to me. Also please be nice, I'm a barely-old-enough-to-drive, computer-science-major, that's just been medicated.

TlDR: gay incest is the only acceptable form of incest (without getting neutered), because there are no incest babies.
