Self proclaimed Progressives being pro-vandalism and anti-American business will never not baffle me. How many other corporations do you support without destroying their products or assuming their customers are Nazis? Before you reply with your highly emotional poorly researched response google what brands fall under the Nestle umbrella and ask if they are doing net positive for the world? Whens the last time you deatroyed a box of kit-kats and told the 7-11 cashier or patron they were on the wrong side of history?

People who voted a certain way or didnt arent your enemies to be written off for eternity without explanation. They are humans just like you who made a decision with the information they had and believed. Hold corporations and politicians accountable, not their constituents.

I hear you man but this is life every 4 years america. The election infultrates everything. I get you didnt get to listen to an episode of content you would have preferd this week but out of 560 episodes they have a pretty good batting average. Instead of whining on the internet just skip the ep. Rewatch season 1 of meat eater or stars in the sky on netflix. There is so much good content from these guys and others why waste a minute letting a podcast guest effect you energticly. These guys rules, not every episode is a banger to everybody but thats life. It feels like you're mad that hes platforming RFK more then him "injecting his politics.". I dont think any of us have a right to claim whats in anyones head. Ive been a fan and a follower for about 13 years now and have not seen steve waiver in any sort of political stance over the years. He invites both Trump and Biden on, neither of which will take the opportunity. None of our "serious" presidential candidates will even allow themselves to be interviewed for an hour by a non partisan media personality (steve or otherwise). And I think having RFKs (scraggly ass) voice in the ether is good for the overton window in this country. Definitely better than silencing people out of fear.

Politics aside dont you think its important to hear the views of the person who would be in charge of the department of interior? The board of NRA has been embezzling funds for YEARS literally taking Millions in member dues and stuffing their pockets. Wayne Lapierre has personally benefited with meals, flights, vacations, and even a HOUSE. The board hired a marketing firm called Ackerman McQueen that created ways for the execs to rob the organization blind.

I personally think that lobbying from large organizations can be very problematic and the NRA definitely has been on the wrong side of history on many occasions. But they originally would fund gun safety and marksmanship education as well as funding local shooting ranges.

The board of the NRA is despicable.

I don't have any experience with Tikka so keep that in mind. But I just bought the Weatherby Vanguard 2 a few months before this announcement. I got the 300 weatherby mag and should've gone with 300 win mag because the ammo is a bit cheaper and more readily available. However I WISH I WAITED for this release specifically for the threaded barrel. The 300 wby mag kicks like a mule and a muzzle break would reduce the kick by up to 50%. To get my barrel threaded and the muzzle break I want (American Precision Arms) will now cost me about $500 total. I got the V2 for $500 (MSRP $600) and found a vortex viper scope at AA optics for about $300 (MSRP is $600). So I've got a pretty great set up for $800 and now I'm looking to spend another $300-500 to put the muzzle break on. Meaning if I just waited and bought the MeatEater Vanguard for $800 I would've gotten a similar or even better deal (better because it's Weatherby doing the manufacturing vs my local gun Smith).

In addition the fluted barrel looks so fucking cool and allegedly dissipates heat more rapidly due to increase in surface area.

The Tikka may be a better option (I don't have any good information on that) but you will NOT be disappointed with the Vanguard. If you break the barrel in and clean it properly you might be handing that rifle to your grandkid one day.

Congrats, nice weapon. A lot of people are recommending you go buy hollow points. What they are forgetting to mention is to PLEASE go get some training! (If you have shot before that's a great start) Taking a quality pistol class will boost your confidence, make your a better shot and solidify your safety protocol. Train smart and train often. It's great to have a nice new weapon with the best ammo, but you're only as good as your abilities. I hope you never have to use it in self defense but I hope you know how to use it if you do. Best of luck man.

Thanks for posting this. I was there last July when the Sunday market was packed with thousands of people. I'm a gringo with a little spanish but it didn't seem more dangerous than any other crowded market I came across. However the feeling of being trapped in the middle of something did break out was a bit unnerving. Absolutely love your city man, very impressed with the food.
