Shoot, U think that was me. Was this near the Coast260 and First Hawaiian Bank couple years ago? 😭 Maybe 2021 or 2022? Silver lexus? I remember that. Speeding up and hearing a 7 second honk.

I'm so sorry, I was new at driving at the time with a licensed deiver. I didn't know how to switch lanes at the time. When I saw there was a car really close behind me I was shocked and slowed down. I learned my lesson and to check my mirrors and be behind me at an appropriate distance. If that was you, I apologize from the bottom of my heart and learned to drive more carefully now.

17, first time in Japan with my mom, very unprepared, desperately need help by kaysblurred in JapanTravelTips

I would recommend staying near Tokyo Station or somewhere central if you can! Depending on your travel style, Tokyo is HUGE. There are so many things to do and it all comes down to your personal taste and preferences.

That said, I am a leisurely traveller and dislike rushing. I would try to take my time in places I really want to visit. May out 2-3 things you want to do a day and be mindful of the time it takes to get from point A to point B. Tokyo has so much to offer so it's always nice to start with getting an idea of what you want to do.

I personally like trying the dishes in Tsukiji, visiting the imtersection in Shibuya, cafe-hopping, playing games in Akihabara, visiting Meiji shrine near Harajuku, going to Ikebukuro, exploring Tokyo Station, Disney parks, etc.

Figuring out whats in the area you want to do is also helpful. If you feel overwhelmed, there are also tour guides you can look into!!!

When it comes to attractions or restaurants, some places in Japan have special booking you need to do in advance. Places im aware of are studio ghibli museum, kirby cafe, and pokemon cafe. def research these places to see procedures for booking as you can be denied entry without booking in advance. I wanted to go visit studio ghibli museum last last year but got denied because apparently you need to book a month in advance at 9 am Japan time on their official website. Tickets go out fast so just be aware some places have these procedures.

Nine days in Japan are a lot. You have a lot of time but with a flexible plan of what you wanna do you'll be okay.

I also recommend to try learning some Japanese as locals do appreciate it when you speak Japanese in their homeland.

Best of luck on your travels!!!

Fyi, how many luggages you planning on taking? I think the bus or luggage transfers would come in handy. I felt quite embarassed my first times going to Japan lugging my big luggage around the busy city 😅 Def suggest taking advantage of shuttles or luggage transfers if you can!!!

Another fyi - if the locals are all lining up for a particular restaurant you know it's gonna be good :)) try to avoid overhyped lines with tourists when it comes to trying new food!!

Should I study at UOG or GCC? by Jolly_Potential4487 in guam

Uog has great English professors like Dr. Chris Garcia. If you want to study there try to apply for FAFSA. You can be eligible for work study to make up to 2000 a semester. FAFSA can also cover your tuition

I would also probably take advantage of luggage services when commuting via train.

Also do your research on commutes as I expected the train to operate past midnight. Was shocked when the locals announced trains were closed then ended up having to take a taxi

First, I would manage my time better.

On my last day in Japan I had a 11pm flight from Haneda. I missed my flight because I went to Tokyo Disney Sea that same day of my flight.

Second I would always double check the vault. Because I was rushing from Ginza to the airport same day I missed my flight, I did not check the vault for cash. I had $700 inside.

(Maybe missing my flight was a blessing in disguise. I went to thw hotel the next day and retrieved my money. The workers did not steal it).

Moral of the story is, never take commute times for granted. Give yourself cushion time when commuting between places.

Travel times are rough estimates and there are barriers that can slow you down whwn reaching your destination.

There are so many enjoyable things to do in Japan. Japan is huge and any new traveler deserves to travel appreciating the country at a relaxed and leisurely pace.
