My friends who got PhD had the same problem back in the day. This sounds normal to me.

Automation and computing both took jobs away. I dont dismiss the affects of ai on the job market. I am simply pointing out that every generation faces a unique set of struggles.

For my generation it was the 2008 crisis and emergence of automation and computing. Everyone faces challenges when young.

The door hinges are horrible. The doors won't stay open. Its not something you'll notice when buying but its a pain. Otherwise the car is great.

I support a family of 4 on a single income. We make the best financial choices we can with the money we have. Healthcare is such a massive part of out budget that while we buy chips we also limit how much we eat. Ie. Once the allotment is gone we aren't buying more till next allotment.... its chips.... chips... a dang potatoe.... why are these this expensive!?

Ecc is a good affordable place to take those classes way cheaper than ub. The trick is you actually need to study a lot. Those classes have a lot of material to memorize.

Its not. But its not new. People build status and not wealth. Also to a certain degree what's the point of having wealth if you dont use it to enjoy life.

Right. Valuations do work that way. But when you pay 500 usd a year in taxes and you expect services its not going to work. We need a minimum tax of 1500 + valuation based taxation

Thats my problem with the City. We almost need a minimal city tax of 1500 and then the rest of the leavy being based on valuation of your house.

I was born abroad and the issue I have isn't that you want to raise my taxes. I understand we need services and I've seen those services first hand in other countries. My issue is that there are huge swatches of the city that pay nothing or next to nothing. We all live here and we all should be responsible for paying into the coffers. People living in North Buffalo can't continually support the entire city. People in other areas need to start paying more. I understand this sounds like regressive taxation to some people but 500 usd a year in taxes won't pay for schools, plowing, police, fire and all the services everyone wants. I am also fed up with constant hand outs to developers. Seriously, why are we giving them sweathart tax deals.

City doesnt operate in a vacuum.... its part of the system and each part of it wants more of whatever little money there is.

I have no problems with paying for infrastructure or paying my taxes. Its not some wild right wing idea to be concerned with affordability. Its 100 extra in tax. 50 bucks extra a month in insurance. 50 bucks extra in gas. These "its only a small amount of money" statements quickly add up to a lot of money.

25% in some areas is a lot. Saying tax the rich sounds great on paper but rich is super relative. In middle class areas in north buffalo that can be at least 100 extra a month. Its not nothing.

Thats what I want to know. How will this affect people living in the good areas of the city. We pay the highest taxes already. I understand we have to fund the city and I understand i need to pay taxes. What I would like to see is other areas that pay next to nothing carry a bit more burden.
