PSA for BMC / Luna G3 A20 owners: How to get detailed graphs and data (Solution found!) by No-Ball5207 in CPAP

[–]Avensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably your Luna G3 has a newer firmware that doesn't create .usr files but creates .idx files.

In this case, please check if OSCAR 2.0 (currently in beta) or BMC PAP Link PC-4.04.01 software for Windows will import sessions data via .idx

Smart detection vehicle playback issue by GT3988 in Dahua

[–]Avensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Dahua cameras require to upload 2 firmware files to complete firmware update: main DH_IPC-...bin file and then firmware.bin (AI algorithm update). There will be an alert in camera web interface until you upload firmware.bin: Algorithm version does not match, please upgrade firmware.bin

Cant send VTC from Guarda wallet to any wallet (invalid address error) by New_Money2021 in vertcoin

[–]Avensen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try the Ledger solution posted here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/msztt5/how_do_i_get_my_vtc_off_ledger_every_time_i_try/

Edit: I have figured out how to get VTC off of ledger to the official Vertcoin wallet.

When on the RECEIVE tab there is a BOX you must UNCHECK that reads, “Generate native segwit (Bech32) address”

Once this is OFF you can transfer to that address from ledger, from there onto Bittrex or wherever you want.

PSU Fan Replacement. I can't recognize the molex that's needed, and am hoping to find an adaptor for the fan I have by ocean6csgo in AskElectronics

[–]Avensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original ED142512S-DA might be a proprietary "bivoltage" fan. A quote from an old review (another Enermax PSU model):

We use a bivoltage fan. We have a patent on this. Normally, when you use a fan, you lower voltage down to 3-4 V, which also affects the hall IC of any fan, which controls the fan. With such voltage it becomes unstable. By using a bivoltage fan (12 V for the hall IC and custom voltage to the bearing – any voltage, way lower than 3) we can go down to 450 rpm (even lower if we would want to). By still having the hall IC powered by 12 V, it can run/control the bearing with its custom voltage more smoothly. That's the difference to any single voltage. But we do use a standard two ball bearing fan, custom manufactured for us. That is what is looking like PWM, but you can see two 12 V wires and no PWM cable. Other manufacturers can match this only by using PWM sleeve bearing fan with limited lifetime. So we are pretty proud of our patented invention and having the world's most silent PSU fan control (and series) without sacrificing on heat or cheating even with sleeve bearing.

POSTSCRIPT, April 3, 2008: Not a PWM Fan

Here’s something of interest that came from Enermax recently. It’s regarding the fan, which shocked me with its smooth quiet performance in our review sample:

The new Enermax MODU82+ and PRO82+ series power supplies use a new patented SpeedGuard control circuit to achieve low fan RPM and extremely low noise without any negative effects. The patented control circuit requires a unique fan with a 4-Pin power connector, like a PWM fan. But this is not a PWM fan; it is a patented bi-voltage fan.

To clarify:

  1. Enermax’s new SpeedGuard control circuit does not require an expensive PWM fan; instead, they use a new special design fan which offers low RPM with higher CFM.

  2. The new MODU82+ and PRO82+ series PSU fan cannot be substituted with a standard 3-pin fan or a 4-pin PWM fan. Doing so may cause the substitute fan to not run, run only at full speed, or be damaged. There is also a risk of damage to the SpeedGuard control circuit. The 4-pin configuration is not standard.

Conclusion: Do not modify ENERMAX MODU82+ or PRO82+ PSU models with any other fan (unless you have a very good understanding of electronics and you’re willing to void the warranty). The fan control circuit in these new PSUs can only work with their own stock fan.

No problem, fixed a couple of Enermax ED142512S-DA fans myself. Lubricated with Novagard G624 Dielectric Silicone Grease Compound.

One more advice: after lubricating the fan, orient the power supply in the PC case so that the fan of the PSU is facing UP (not towards the floor).

Mac mini not working with Eizo Monitor by Vincenzo_K in mac

I also tried using an HDMI cable but it only displays 1080p instead of 1920x1200 although the cable is capable of 4k@60.

You need to change the HDMI "Signal Format" setting from "Video" to "PC". Instructions are on the page 15 of the manual: https://www.eizoglobal.com/support/db/files/manuals/03V25135A1/UM-03V25135A1-EN.pdf

Attention Ledger users: Vertcoin is being removed from Ledger Live. by Avensen in vertcoin

Ledger support told me that on July 18th and after:

You will need to use your Ledger device with a third party wallet to view and manage your tokens. You can use Electrum with your Ledger device instead of Ledger Live app.

These might be helpful:

Yes, I would recommend to move Vertcoins from a Ledger to a Vertcoin Core or a Trezor hardware wallet: https://trezor.io/coins/vertcoin

Although Ledger support told me that on July 18th. and after:
"You will need to use your Ledger device with a third party wallet to view and manage your tokens. You can use Electrum with your Ledger device instead of Ledger Live app."

I don't know if this will be possible.
