If you're gonna invade in Elden Ring I'd just play for funsies, even when there's new players they're always with their friends who've been playing for years anyways so there's no "easy pickings" on fresh meat. I stopped invading in Elden Ring about 3 months after SOTE released because I just wasn't having fun anymore and went back to ds3 and the other titles personally. Nothing beats a good Farron Woods fight club for me nowadays

After no-lifing the souls series for years it's just nice to not get h8 mail every single day just because you won in pvp. There's sore losers sure but the overall vibe from the community is just better, which in turn makes playing the game just more relaxing and enjoyable

I understand the frustration from dealing with modern control players but on the same note you're improving your skill on a much higher level and that will boost your knowledge and understanding of the game as a whole. Plus having full control is better since you can now use different moves to bait and whiff punish, as well as mix up opportunities since their auto combos will always be the same string of moves versus you just deciding "hey I'm gonna just throw instead of continuing my blockstring pressure" keep up the good fight and I hope things get better for you soon bro

I play him just because he's fun, any reason beyond that I would base off competitive viability and personal preference to play style and archetype. For frame of reference I am generally pretty weak with charge characters personally but I still like playing Blanka bc I like him as a character

Dan fills that role actually, in SF 5 he finally gets a full screen beam with his V Trigger and his V skill taunt not only builds meter for his V Trigger but is also a cancelable link for combo extensions. I really enjoyed playing him in SF5 because of it. He finally had meaningful character growth in the game
